hi micky

depends where your location is , in the uk nw of england a 80 cm dish is fine for most the common sats ~ hotbird, hispasat, thore, astra 1 & 2 etc

I'm on the northants/beds border and think i'd like to pick up W1 @10.0E and Eurobird1 @ 28.5E my 80cm dish doesn't seem to be capable, either that or I'm not! Any ideas? I mean is it dish size that's the problem?

80cm should be plenty, most of the Eurobird1 transponders are designed to be received with a sky minidish and I've picked up 10E with a sky zone 2 (60cm) dish.

If other satellites are OK, check your positioning or allignment.
