Default Patch with an apple mac - possible?

I think I already know the answer to this but just wanted to confirm...

Is it possible to patch a 1500 if I don't own a PC? I use a mac (G5) - no serial port.

Ta.

Do macs have USB? - if yes, you could maybe use a usb to seriel adapter.

yep, they do have USB ports..but the software (Darkman_TMLoader) is PC software - would there a way of patching without using the software? I'm doubting there is.

I don't actually own a Technomate 1500 yet but i'm thinking of getting one (or a Phoenix apollo or summut similar)...am still looking into things really... so any info/pointers will be greatly received.

thanks for that.

I was hoping to avoid having to resort to using windows but it doesn't seem possible. Ah well...

that looks interesting if a little daunting (to my non technical brain anyway).
I think it might just be easier to pay my brother a visit and nab his pc for half an hour.
