Default Media Centre PC advice

I know very little about MCE and what it can do and as I cant find a brown box to do what I need, I thought I might look at a MCE PC.

This is what I need, can someone tell me if this is easily doable and what to look for: HDMI, componant or DVI output at 1080i HD resolution plus a composite (or even an RF) output, at least 2 A/V inputs (preferably RGB Scart) and a HD (HDMI or Componant) input would be a bonus all with PVR capability. Co-axial and optical DD5.1 audio output and a fast enough processor to handle MPEG4 AVC (H264) video files. I don't really need a TV Tuner, but it wouldn't hurt. It needs to be relatively quiet and in a desktop style case and with a remote control.

I've had a browse on ebay and I can find PC's with most of the spec's except the A/V inputs, although the majority seem to be not much more than Freeview PVR's with DVD.

Anyone with MCE experience out there? how well does it work? and any pointers or suggestions on what to get?

I suppose it's a shame the boss doesn't have a computer shop any more
