Hi, I have been using antivirus software for a number of years now. All the ones mentioned are OK but its really down to personal choice.
I like AVG as it is free and has a small footprint on the machine. Sophos is an excellent option if you want to spend some money. Or if you fancy setting up a firewall with scanning built in IPCOP will scan all incoming/outgoing traffic with Clam AV and FProt. I think you can also get clam with a windows GUI now. the main thing is you do not want your software to hog all your resources and Norton and McAffee are guilty of this. I also prefer the opensource route as they tend to be more reliable for scanning IMHO. |

I would just stick to Norton Antivirus, i did have a few problems with it in the past, it wouldn't remove certain viruses. I had to wipe out my PC and re-install everything, before going onto internet i installed Norton, and just kept with the updates, working perfect now.

AVG together with Zone Alarm. both free and nether hog's your computer processing power, Norton slows things down and isn't all that good. McAfee (Mcrappy) is just a nightmare.
