How do you know when you need to add more memory to your computer? And is it real hard to do? I have no clue when it comes to this. Any help would be appreciated? Thank you.

It isn't that difficult, but it pays to see someone else do it first as you're opening up the tower and you need to know what parts look like and how to move memory bars around. The first one I ever did was on an Imac and I sweated bullets and it was much easier than a PC.

I think you know when you need more memory when your applications demand it.
![]() I guess one suggestion of insufficient memory could be if you key programs *have always* run really slow. If they suddenly *start* running slow it could be a software conflict issue or even spyware. After that, I think it's simply the case of slotting it in if you buy it.

Whatever machine you are using starts telling you often you are out of memory, you don’t have enough memory to download a software, or to execute a simple operation. That’s when you’ll know you need more memory. If you know where the memory slot is it’s just a matter of buying the memory chips the machine allows and put them in the slot. Otherwise, you should take it in and it’s not a complicated job and don’t let them charge you much.

Thanks for your information 'bangfor'. Please tell me one thing What is harddisc memory and RAM memory. I understand the hard disc stores all the data being downloaded in the PC. When the RAM helps to store the data temprorily during working. Am I correct? By chip do you mean RAM or is there any other memory chip ?
