need a spare key for new car
a friend of mine has bought a VW passat on a 53 plate, but they only gave him one key, when he asked for a spare key they quoted him a stupid amount, so i am assuming this must have a transponder in it to deactivate the immobiliser,
my question is, where could i get a spare key made that isnt gonna cost an arm and a leg for him.

Average price for these keys are £120. then a pin is needed to program it.
Dealer maybe the only option

I can get you a spare key with remote plip for cheaper than you can get from dealer without plip. Also I can calculate pin and code to vehicle if you are local to Guildford / Horsham (or can easily get there). Other than that you could try looking for a local vehicle locksmith. Where are you based? perhaps I could recommend one?
