New firmware version 1.70 for HD 5000 receiver

Hi, Clarke tech release new firmware version 1.70 for HD 5000 receiver any experience with this version?

The softcam for Clarke contains Canal+ NL and TV Vlaanderen but I never success to open this channels. I use firmware ver.162p. Do I need to do more then just download softcam ?

Group of channels on Sirius become black, any chance to open them again?

Well I've installed 1.70 today Krakow so I'm going to see how it goes. It isn't a p version so it won't do any of the clever stuff which is what you are talking about above. I've asked on the German site about a p version of this and they indicated that it's still being worked on.

I use Diablo Cam for the clever stuff which does give you Canal+ NL. I'm wondering whether with the Prem. channels being more difficult to get, like you can't get this may have led to the German market falling away out of the development of p versions and why they are being a bit slow to produce a p version of 1.70.

The new 1.70 only is suppose to fix

DVB subtitles
-Conax Smard detection
-New STAB Motor protocol

So far it seems that it might be better at spinning up my hard disk than 1.62p....

So we'll see.

OK after several hours of use I see that the bookmarks don't work so you can't drop a marker as to where you have got to whilst you take a break on play back [wait for the partner to do the washing up]. So CT does it again, they bunged the wrong 5 Euros to the wrong guy in a pub in Germany, paying for software development. A previous version way back had this problem, the concept of version control seems to have gone out the window a while ago.

I'm going to go back to 1.62p tomorrow. I'll test out the Dutch p keys and come back as to whether it works for me. Diablo does.

Well I tested the bookmarks again today on 1.70 and they were fine !. So that's strange, may be in checking the software yesterday I pressed too many buttons which then stopped the book mark red button from working via the software, don't know.

I loaded back up 1.62p and updated the keys to the CT USB file one trying both the file off this site and the German site. Neither worked on Dutch package.

As I mentioned I don't really use the p version too much except for putting a card directly into the slot rather than the Diablo cam slot [official card that I can't talk about, more of a convenience than anything else]. Diablo seems to work better than the p version key files in general giving you channels that aren't available historically on the p version which aren't now available on the Diablo. ie. the Nordic channels which were on the Diablo but not on the p keys, the Dutch ones now etc.

The future is never certain [] the Diablo for me has always worked better at bringing in channels than the p USB files. It seems to me that the 1.70 software may better support hard drives than 1.62p does, since I've had less start up disk checking activity which generally goes on for 4 minutes or so - the auto check disk which is triggered by bad sector / FAT issues created by the software.... So I'm going to stick with 1.70 and hope they will bring out a 1.70p soon.
