Default What to buy???

I have been informed that my Dbox 500s has lost its connection and the receiver also need replacing as it is not a genuine box. I had it on Hotbird (13) and Astra (19 & 28) and the quote for repairing it is quoted as £250. I wanted to know if there is a better alternative by way of a better system or cheaper price to reslove this problem.

Thanks

The comms chip is the one that goes and is usually caused by plugging-in or unplugging the Lan lead while the receiver is switched on..
The chip is available for around £9 but it is not an easy task unless you are good with a soldering iron!
I can dig out the details and pictures for you if you want.. but you can now buy a replacement box for around £50 on the net.. and the clones are just as good as the originals!..

You could buy an Eagle from our sponsor at a reasonable price
