I'm surprised you're getting overheating with it - is this a common issue? Got to admit I've never noticed my own laptop overheating.
If it's not a silly question, it's not related to the recent overheating batteries from Sony, by any chance? http://www.platinax.co.uk/news/19-09...all-continues/ |

Well, it was more of an issue with my old Dell...it even powered down once due to overheating. Needless to say, I didn't replace it with another Dell.
I've checked the battery; my laptop manufacturer issued a recall, but my battery is fine. Thanks for the suggestion, though. |

I had a bit of an overheating problem when I tried to get my laptop to play demanding games. I bought a 3-fan cooling pad on eBay, and now it plays games with no problem. If you're still having issues having tried cooling pads, then I'd definitely get in touch with the manufacturer.
Edit: Oh... I see you're sorted. Well then, I'll shut up ![]() Last edited by BlackGarden; 25-10-06 at 03:51 PM. |

The way to do it is. Putting a cup mat under the laptop so that the rubber feet are on top of the mats, basically all that does is brings your laptop off the surface a little bit, allowing more air to get under it, which cools it down.
Dont use cooling pads, personaly i see them as a waste of time. |

I like the suggestion of the cup mat. And it makes sense that having the feet up would create a nice air flow underneath the laptop as well. I will have to remember this trick. Thanks.
