Sorry for the late reply there is a list on the German formumn for the said box. It is in German but you can translate.

I grind my teeth over the topic since at one time the Buffalo Turbo USB 750 Gb was recommended and people used it. But each release of the software from about 15 months ago proved problematic. So I stuck with an early release. Then I opted to get a LogiTech laptop USB hub which had been reported to be useful, this I did and via a card / USB splitter thingey, so you can play pictures and Podcasts from say an SD card etc... this arrangement works.

But there have been times when CT released an update and this then knocked the arrangement out. CT claim it's the Korean's and their support for drivers.

The issue that you have that once invested in the USB drive you don't really want to change to another make, especially when you have two of them like me.

I use the Buffalo FAT32 format utility that comes with it to format the disk rather than other utilities. I keep a fixed size for MP3 music files in a seperate partition so that you don't enter space issues when the video's get take up too much space [about 20 mega].

Currently or just about currently the box does do a Chkdisk and fix when it find an issue which saves plugging it into a laptop to do this which you had to do about six months back, but then 18 months ago that was fine... all to do with changing software.

I also find that starting programme record off 5 mins before the programme starts also gives enough time for it to do a chkdisk if it needs to without missing the start of the programme.

If you really want to know I can list off the model of both of these little USB boxes I mentioned.

CT say don't go above 750gb, but I know that some people have, least in Germany.
