Hi Avols

I think there is a program called flashwizard that should make a back up of the image for you, dreambox control center(DCC) should also do the job. Dreamup should also work but you may have to use a null modem cable with this.
Have you tried a different power supply to your box ? I remember the power supplies used to fail, perhaps overheating ?

Yes overheating can cause this as chips has said so make sure the box is well ventilated.. but image corruption can also cause this 'hanging'

You have a new Dm now so perhaps you wont want to mess about with the old box.. but you could try a re-flash using Dreamup and a Null Modem (RS232) cable...

rgds..

Default Yes...

Thanks for reply! Power supply has no problem, its working good. After reading your's reply I tried with power supply from new one but same problem..

Speacially I wants to transfer CCcam 2.0.9 module with all configurations files and settings files. I mean all the files which are included in this module..

So I don't have to configure CCcam or server info or other files on one new one.. Channels list and boquets are not very important...

Which utility is best ??? Flashwizard or DCC or Dreamup ???

I don't understand CHIP! you wrote I have to use null modem cable (RS232) with Dreamup ??? What about other utilities ???

One thing I would like to say that my dreambox and my PC are connectet with same D-link router. Can I access Dreambox with his IP address ??? and with which utility ???

Thanks again...

Hi Avols

DCC and flash wizard can both be used over your network, but on closer inspection neither DCC or flashwizard seem to back up cams or cam settings.

I did manage with the gemini image, to use the back facility from the Blue panel>Extras/Setup>Create Backup. This creates a backup which includes cams, and I assume cam configs. It places the backup in the Temp folder in the dreambox, so you will need to FTP to the dreambox and transfer it to your computer. While you are FTPing to your dreambox you could also lift the CCcam config file which should contain all your settings. It should be situated in either var/bin or var/etc, the file should be named CCcam.cfg.

Hope this helps

Re: Pm from avols143

Hi m8..

What chips has said is right on the money and i can't really add to it..

The best way is for me to show you how is with a little pictorial tutorial using DCC.. which i will do later and post it..

Everything except Emu's settings will be backed-up but you can FTP the CCcam.cfg as chips already said.. which is all you need with the latest CCcam as it doesn't require a separate .prio file

After you flash the image on the new box you install CCcam fresh and then FTP the saved CCcam.cfg back to replace the fresh one..

Will post here later with a link to the tutorial..

Edit: Seems like you got it sorted so the tutorial can wait

2) Have to power off and power on while connecting my PC. OR can I connect to my PC too while box is power on and connected with TV or while in blue panel ???????

3) Which utility have to use to FTPing dreambox from my PC. Is it DCC utility ver:2.82 ???? or an other utility which you think is the best ??

I have to do all the things you wrote at same time?? OR step-by-step ???

1) First I have to make a backup from BPanel which should be save into temp folder on dreambox.

A: Yes, it will be saved automatically to the temp folder.

2) Have to power off and power on while connecting my PC. OR can I connect to my PC too while box is power on and connected with TV or while in blue panel ???????

A: NO, do NOT power off the dreambox. You can connect to your dreambox with dcc then use the FTP function to move the backup to a folder on your PC. The file will be called : gemini_backup_08.08.2009.tar.gz. I will assume you know how to connect to your dreambox.

3) Which utility have to use to FTPing dreambox from my PC. Is it DCC utility ver:2.82 ???? or an other utility which you think is the best ??

A: DCC will do the job, make sure you also copy CCcam.cfg from the /var/etc folder on your dreambox to your PC.

4) After making a backup of CCcam module how can I put this on my other dreambox??? have to use DCC utility again??? or have to use FlashWizard 6.3 or any best to do this ???

A: After you make a backup, copy it with DCC's FTP function from the temp folder of your dreambox to a folder on your PC. Also copy CCcam.cfg from the /var/etc folder on your dreambox to your PC. Now on your new dreambox, flash a gemini image on your new dreambox. Go through the basic setup and make sure all the network settings are correct. Connect to the new dreambox with DCC and again using the FTP function place the backup file : gemini_backup_08.08.2009.tar.gz in the temp folder of the new dreambox, then through the blue panel choose Restore Backup. After the backup is restored using DCC's FTP function, place the file CCcam.cfg (that you copied from your old dreambox) into /var/etc on your new dreambox overwriting the old file if need be. Restart your new dreambox.

Can I copy and paste files from dreambox to on my PC ????

A: Using the ftp function on DCC transfer the files to your PC.

Thanks again Chips..

I need little more guidness from you...

I hope this helps you Avols

Default Amazing....

Hey Chips!

Now I have been creat backup from blue panel and in the /var/tmp folder the following files are created.

CCcam.nodeid
enigma
ecm.info
ecmO.info
gemini_backup_08.08.2009.tar.gz
gemini_backup_log.txt
pmt.tmp

and sure I have to copy CCcam.cfg manuel in /var/etc folder..

Two more little things that I wants to know,

1) My other dreambox have also the same software but little bit old version. The restore function will update the sofware too OR just CCcam modules form backup file gemini_backup_08.08.2009.tar.gz ????

2) My new dreambox have per-installed MGcamd-1.20 module. So this will erase ???? Can I have two modules at same time ??? Now I have a backup of both modules (CCcam 2.0.9 and MGcamd-1.20) on my PC.

How can I install MGcamd-1.20 module on new dreambox after installing CCcam 2.0.9 from old to new box...

I have to install both modules on different location, or which files I have to configure/update..

Thanks...

A: I'm not sure how it would work with the image being slightly older. I would update the image to 4.60. You could try it as you have a backup of everything you need, but, this may corrupt the image ?

2) My new dreambox have per-installed MGcamd-1.20 module. So this will erase ???? Can I have two modules at same time ??? Now I have a backup of both modules (CCcam 2.0.9 and MGcamd-1.20) on my PC.

A: I think you should have enough room for MGcamd aswell as CCcam.

How can I install MGcamd-1.20 module on new dreambox after installing CCcam 2.0.9 from old to new box...

A: download MGcamd via the blue panel.

I have to install both modules on different location, or which files I have to configure/update..

A: If you download MGcamd via the blue panel, it is installed automatically.

Thanks...

Hope this helps
