Default Comag to offer HD+ receivers

Comag to offer HD+ receivers--11-08-2009

German trading company Comag wants to bring digital receivers to the market tailor-made for SES Astra’s planned high definition platform HD+. An agreement has now been concluded with the satellite operator, the company announced.

The set-top-boxes should be available from autumn under the company’s own brands Comag and Boca as well as under third-party brands. Comag receivers already on the market can be made HD+ compatible via their common interface slots through a software update and so-called legacy modules.

HD+ will launch in late autumn on Astra (19.2° East) with RTL and VOX on board, to be followed in January 2010 by Sat.1, ProSieben and kabel eins. For reception of the Nagravision-encrypted platform, viewers will have to pay fees, although the first 12 months are included in the price of an HD+ receiver.
