Thumbs down PC Strarting problem

I am Sankaranarayanan, I have joined this forum today. I have a problem in my PC. It does not start by operating the starter switch. But if I short the pins where the starter switch (power switch) is connected to the mother board, it starts. The starter switch is OK. Can any one help me to locate the fault?

Damn, how did you figure messing with shorting the pins? That sounds like a problem already!

May be the problem is with motherboards pins.
Its better to take your pc to a expert technician.

i think it is simple, either the wires werent connected to the correct pins in the first place or maybe you have a loose wire in the switch itself, you really need to test it with a multimeter for resistence and continuity

yes m8 rest assured there does not seem anything wrong with your motherboard, all you have is a break or dry joint between the switch and the board, just replace the switch and wire m8 that way the problem is sure to be solved. by the way where the h*ll is Sankaranarayanan or whats that in english ??? cya.

I would not know how to fix this at all. I would be at the nearest computer repair place in a minute. I would make more of a mess trying to figure it out. Good luck to you I hope you get it fixed soon.
