Hi all.
Newbie to the system, I have just purchased a technomate TM6800HD base unit, I was told that I should be able to update the machine software to the latest version, but not to down load it from the techno site but from another source which allows the unit to perform better? Can anyone point me in the right direction please, also can the upgrade be done via a usb stick, what size memory stick should I puchase to hold this data. |

Hi & congrats on your purchase of Technomate receiver.
Lets run through the necessary steps to get you up and running 1. you will need to download the correct patch for you receiver which you can find here : http://www.satmoz.com/forum/showthre...228#post193228 2. next download the latest softcam which can be found here : http://www.satmoz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15875 3. you will need a usb memory stick of a minimum of ( 1GB in my opinion ) Open the zipped folders and send both Patch & Softcam to the usb stick. 4.You are now ready to transfer the patch/softcam onto your receiver. 5.Next insert your usb memory stick in the usb port of your receiver and then turn the receiver on to a free to air channel ready to load the patch. TM-6800 non super upgrade procedure: ![]() ![]() update procedure for 6000 series (super and non super) are simular USB stick fat32 formatted or it is not recognised press the USB key, left above menu key (this brings you in the USB menu) select Data Transfer select [/volume 0] select the .STB file and press ok it writes several times to 6000 series (up to 5 times), wait until the technomate reboots, don't remove usb key or power down before. same procedure for softcam select .key file and press ok regards, Credit for this tutorial goes to JGruuthuse

Hiya COMPASS
Thanks for the informative post above.I was thinking of getting a TM HD receiver. Just one question, can I download patches and softcams the good old fashioned way, ie via cable from my PC to the receiver? Many thanks for any input, sorry for hijacking the O/P's post. "J" |

null modem or USB stick: be carefull no to upload wrong patch over RS232 to TM HD receiver, if Super or Super+ you could use the network cable.
