The latest "guide" pdf file is at the bottom of the thread, guys... ![]() The minimum good will required Before I begin, let me say this: me I envisaged this to be a complementary “Manual” to the official AZbox HD Manual, which is telling you in a usual, “ABC manner”, ‘what’s what’, in a usual “ABC manner”. Together, I hope, they will help you unleash the power of Linux, in a Multimedia Centre of AZbox HD quality!!! In addition, this will not be an exhaustive, comprehensive “how to”! For instance, I only have an Elite model, so I cannot cover properly the Premium model issues, like WLAN, built-in HDD etc. Besides, new drivers, FW, plug-ins are being written etc. etc. Also, I do not have neither original nor pirate cards, so some issues with Cardserver part of Card Sharing [CS] I cannot fully test and report. Instead, I can only read and give other people’s account of it all. However, most major stuff will be here, described in detail, so anyone can sort it out for himself or herself, given the minimal self-confidence, some time to read - and a bit of necessary patience, in order to do it, aided every step of the way!!! But do it properly, EVERY step of the way, so you familiarise yourselves with all sorts of possibilities for AZbox HD, not just a single EMU/CS SW! If one needs more info on a specific issue, please visit the good forums, like Satdudez... This is NOT all my work, even though most of it is and I certainly wrote all of it, minus the quoted text written by Mower/The_Ripper, Tinos,Kanber_Kav, terrorman and the like, who helped me understand better the “ins and outs” of various plug-ins for AZbox HD! I would like to thank all who helped out, all who give to this project, especially those who give freely!!! Guaranteed, if you persevere: within hours, provided one follows this “alternative manual” - it will all work well in the end, given the absence of spiritual laziness and way too many self-doubts, plus being all ‘majestically princely’. So, if one “can’t be bothered” but one ‘only’ wants it “all working” – one is bound to be “disappointed”, I’m afraid... or out of pocket, paying the professionals to do it for him/her, as this just won’t set itself up nicely... I know only of persistence and doggedness. Then and only then “the magic” happens. Only then can one really enjoy his/her new toy, after “working on it, and learning about its ins and outs!!! Cheers!!! Goran/gorski P.S. The freeware/gratis applications you need for this, like 7-Zip, Notepad2, FileZilla Client, Firefox broswer are more - are all here: Code:

0) The minimal necessary requirements! For newbies, who just got their AZbox HD Multimedia Centre: -install a necessary Unix editor for various files - like Notepad++ [freeware/gratis!] or Ultra Edit 32 [it costs!] – to your PC. Do not edit your files with Notepad, Word or WordPad, as they add extra signs, without even showing it; - FileZilla Client [freeware] to connect [FTP] with your AZbox HD; - 7zip [freeware] application, to deal with compressed files one gets from the net, in order to be able to "unpack/extract" them to your PC. For all the basic information about AZbox HD get the official Manual v. 1.2 from here, attached to this message, together with the "emergency flash procedure". For veterans ofAZbox HD: -backup your channel list, if you already had your AZbox HD installed and sorted in this regard [the 3 files are in “DISK2” folder of your AZbox HD: all_channel, antenna_list, DVBS – all three files with the extension “.dat”] -backup your AZbox HD's EMU folder, just in case... Fasten your (W)LAN belts... I will only presume that you have connected your AZbox HD properly to your: -satellite dish [the lower LNB port, as the upper one is a loopthrough to another Sat TV receiver/Multimedia Centre]; -TV [SCART or HDMI cable] or Home Theatre system [many possibilities there]. I will explain some aspects of connecting AZbox HD with: -PC [by LAN or WLAN], directly or indirectly [via a Modem/Router] -internet – as above, directly via router or indirectly via PC How does one connect them? Either via: -ethernet/network crossover cable, if one is to connect PC and AZbox HD - more info here: Ethernet crossover cable - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia -or via ethernet/network straight cable, if one is to connect one’s router and AZbox HD: Category 5 cable - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia When you do that, go to AZbox HD Menu, using your remote: press the blue button HOME, then go to Settings, and then Internet. ...we're about to take off... How to connect AZbox HD with internet and PC, in order to embark on a Linux, Sat TV and multimedia adventure... So, it is best if you set up a modem/router as your internet connection. That way AZbox HD and your PC are connected indirectly, i.e. via the router. In other words both your PC and your AZbox HD will be connected to the net via the router. By the same token, they are connected with each other, indirectly, via the router. This is a better combination, to be strived for, because all of your components are directly connected to the net, as well as to one another, indirectly. Here is the scheme – let's pretend „Computer B“ is your AZbox HD... because it is a computer, after all... ![]() When you are using a router, then all 3 machines we are considering here, must have IP addresses in a specific range. Have a look at the following details... How does one do it? On your AZbox HD remote press HOME, -> Settings -> Internet. There are a few possibilities: wireless (Wi-Fi) and cable (Wired) connections. Both can be set up either automatically (DHCP), or manually (static IP). When you connect AZbox HD with the router (either via cable or wirelessly) activate DHCP in the same Settings menu. It should all be a breeze, stuck on “automatic”. Most of the time this does work! If not, the first thing you can do is Reboot, if necessary, a few times, even. If it still doesn’t function, try with a static IP address. Here is an example... See router’s Manual first (most of them have it “online”). You can also do it via your PC, by getting into it via your browser. Enter the router’s “interface“, usually via an IP address of the http://192.168.x.x type, plus admin and admin, as username and password. Have a look here for your “IP range”. Note the IP address of your PC and assign a different static address to your AZbox HD. Let’s say that your router’s IP address is 192.168.1.2, the range is up to 192.168.1.254, that PC’s IP address is 192.168.1.252. We can assign 192.168.1.251 as a static IP address to AZbox HD, then 255.255.255.0 - Subnet mask, 192.168.1.2 – Gateway, 192.168.1.2 – DNS1, 0.0.0.0 – DNS2. When you do that, go to “Start check“. You should be connected. If not: reboot and test! I do not own a Premium model, so I can’t test the WLAN issues, except state a few things on the level of principles. It’s always preferable to cable it up, of course. But sometimes WLAN. is necessary. I can see some people are complaining re. encryption/WLAN security measures of the newer, stronger type, but I can also see the improvement reports, so... soon... |

1) Let's get down to it: IN MEDIAS (ST)RES!!! The best practice I know of: deleting it all and re-doing it from scratch, eliminating whatever accumulated mistakes there may be, if at all possible! Not everything can be explained in a strictly temporal, logical manner, as if you are actually doing it - but I'll warn you... One doesn’t need to do it sometimes, if all is functioning well and a new FW comes out. In that case, one can skip the “deleting of everything” one has installed previously! But... if it’s corrupt... Press the Home button on your remote and use your left arrow [around the OK button] on your remote controller to go to -> Settings -> Data Reset -> PIN number is 0000 à Delete all plug-ins, then Delete all channels! Download and put a "patch" [= Image = Firmware = FW], the one you want to programme your AZbox HD with, on your USB memory stick. Then, put the USB memory stick into AZbox HD. Reboot your AZbox HD, either using the power button at the back of the receiver or press the red Power/Standby button on your remote for about 5 seconds. A note: a "patch" [FW] usually comes compressed, i.e. as patch.rar -> unpack it, using 7zip programme [right click on it -> “Extract here”]. Now, once decompressed/unpacked, sometimes one must also rename it, as it comes as patch.sit file, in which case -> right click on it -> rename it -> patch.bin -> Enter [on your keyboard]. Warning: USB memory stick should be formatted in FAT, FAT32 or ext3 format, NOT NTFS [do not reboot from a USB memory stick or an HDD formatted in NTFS!!!]!!! Thanx to Tinos: You need to remove all partitions [from the USB stick - my edit]. Format with fdisk or macosx to leave only 1 partition. Also make sure there is no special U3 soft on it. 2) Format the application area When AZbox HD reboots it will give you a number of options: firstly, use Format application area (that will delete a lot of stuff but not all like before)-> confirm it by pressing OK. This is what that menu looks like, in which there are a few things to do. ![]() 3) Install the FW After formatting, install the FW. You will see on the telly which FW you have and which FW is on your USB drive and ask you if you wish to proceed. Confirm it [OK]. When it's finished [and it takes a while, as FW is big!] and AZbox HD is rebooting - be close to the receiver to do this quickly - take the USB stick out or - if you feel lazy - just choose Reboot without update! When it is up press the USB button on your remote [lower right hand corner] and take the USB memory stick out. You will see a little message on the TV [“Eject”, I think.]. 4) Reset!!! Now, go to Settings -> Data Reset -> and reset to Factory setting [thanx to Tinos for warning me!]. This will wipe out your previous settings, including the channels stuff... 5) Settings to be sorted out... Press the HOME button -> go to and sort out the Settings, as per your setup. -System Information, check if you're "connected" etc. -Language/Time -> choose your preferred Menu Language; Subtitle language; Data and Time format [like European or US]; time zone etc.; -Networking Service: press the right arrow to get in, -> OK for each option to activate it all! If you don’t do it, you won’t be able to get into AZbox with Telnet, FTP etc. -Internet settings, according to your equipment and needs -Audio/Video -> choose your Video Format, Resolution, Screen etc. One should send a list of channels into AZbox HD (see below for details but here I will continue to write about the Settings themselves, first), in order to be able to sort out the dish/LNB settings. So, only when you put in the list of channels, can you sort out the stuff one can find here: TV Channel Tuner A -> DVB-S -> Antenna Setup -> DiSEqC -> hit the left arrow to get to Combination -> OK -> set your xyz amount of LNBs... DiSEqC 1.0 [up to 4 LNBs], DiSEqC 1.1 [up to 64 LNBs]. Below is one such setup – my toroidal dish with 8 LNBs: ![]() The following 2 are normally used for motorised setups, when one has only 1 LNB. Then, one usually uses the "Positioner" settings, of course. (DiSEqC 1.0 and 1.1 are normally used when the "Positioner" is set to “OFF".) DiSEqC 1.2 for a motorised setup and USALS, the same but automatised, using your Latitude and Longitude (Format: xx.x) TV Channel also has the not-yet-fully-implemented-> IP Channel option (pass for now). DiSEqC 1.1 settings for multi-LNB setup OK, what one gets with this option? Well, it’s instant switching, no waiting, no noise in the dead of night and your neighbours or/and your darlin' cursing you... Superb!!! I have 8 LNBs on a toroidal dish, with an 8in1 switch, so here is how I got them all working: in the Combination sub-menu -> OK -> set it up for xy LNB’s, depending on how many LNB’s (of various types like Twin or Quadro LNBs) and xin1 switches one has. Because AZbox HD has 2 slots for 2 Sat TV HD tuners. So, the winning combination for AZbox HD is: Sat position 1 = [I reversed the Command Order] Uncommit./Commit. + [Committed DiSEqC] Switch A + [Uncommitted DISEqC] Switch 1 Sat position 2 = Uncommit./Commit. + Committed DiSEqC Switch B + Uncommitted DISEqC Switch 1 Sat position 3= Uncommit./Commit. + Committed DiSEqC Switch C + Uncommitted DISEqC Switch 1 Sat position 4 = Uncommit./Commit. + Committed DiSEqC Switch D + Uncommitted DISEqC Switch 1 Sat position 5 = Uncommit./Commit. + Committed DiSEqC Switch A + Uncommitted DISEqC Switch 2 Sat position 6 = Uncommit./Commit. + Committed DiSEqC Switch B + Uncommitted DISEqC Switch 2 Sat position 7 = Uncommit./Commit. + Committed DiSEqC Switch C + Uncommitted DISEqC Switch 2 Sat position 8 = Uncommit./Commit. + Committed DiSEqC Switch D + Uncommitted DISEqC Switch 2 I kept pestering Hugo of Opensat to sort it out properly, as the full DiSEqC v. 1.1 wasn’t present in the FW when AZbox HD came out – and it paid off!!! |

So, one can, indeed, put up 16 Twin LNBs, each sending 2 cables into 2 different 8in1 switches, each of those sending only 2 cables down to my AZbox HD, one per sat TV tuner, so I will be able to easily watch something and record something else... Peace!
The combination with Twin or Quadro LNB’s can either feed one or more homes, bringing the costs down or peace to one’s home: one for the wife and daughter, “lemonades” and soap operas, plus another receiver for the boys, “action” movies, sport and so forth, hehe... This is what it looks like: Not to forget: here are the links to calculate one’s position, elevation, central satellite position etc. Choose your language, country, city etc. Lat - Long Finder: This page helps you find Latitude and Longitude Satellite Finder / Dish Pointing Calculator with Google Maps | DishPointer.com SatLex Digital :: Technik :: Rechner :: WF Toroidal Rechner Then, when you have a good enough signal on all the satellites you need, you can scan satellites individually, all together, or maybe transponder by transponder, according to your needs. Those DVB-S "antenna" settings have many options. Do not use the GOGO-list yet! Not ready!!! It may mess up your channel settings! DiSEqC 1.2 and USALS http://www.satdudez.org/forum/showth...011#post648011 - two-three ways of doing it, thanx to our m8s!!! 6) A channel list into the AZbox HD... Put a channel list in at this point, if you do not want to make your own list, with your own groups like various "favourites”. Use the latest Telesat's Editor (a better one, by Morser is out now!). There are different ways of doing it. Find a good, up-to-date list (Sofrenic, for instance) and the latest editor. Install it according to the Readme, i.e. uninstall the old one first, if you had it installed. When one installs and starts the telesat's Editor, one must create a profile, first. Click on Options, put in a name to create a profile [like, “AZbox HD”], put in the IP address of your AZbox HD [something like 192.168.x.x], then click on Update Profile. Open the three files [already mentioned above!] you got from the net: File -> Open -> find the folder containing the unzipped files -> open all 3 files. Edit them, if you need it -> DiSEqC settings are under Organise Sat and TP. Every time you make a change in a satellite position settings -> Update Sat! Otherwise, you will lose your changes! One can do a lot more with the editor – discover by trying... Later, I am going to write a lot about Maz editor by Morser, when I have the time to test the newest version, as it's much more than an editor - but an all round tool for AZbox HD. Send the channel list to AZbox , when done editing. AZbox HD will receive an automatic command to reboot. Wait, and then check it all out. Edit internally, if needed When you are watching a channel, press OK button on your remote, so you get the channel list on your TV -> then find a channel you want to delete -> press the MENU button on your remote, which is next to the LEFT ARROW on your remote -> Delete -> OK. Let’s say you want to delete a whole satellite position and all its channels. Go to a channel [press the OK button] -> EXIT button -> get to the sat position you want to delete by pressing < or > “arrow” buttons on your remote, to get into the SATELLITE tab, press the v arrow and choose the satellite position you want to erase -> press the MENU button I mentioned -> Delete -> OK. Don't forget to delete the FAV groups, if you have them connected with the deleted satellite positions, though... One can easily add channels to Favs or Country or so... It can all be done via remote. You may want to re-scan at least your favourite satellite positions, just in case! Use the NIT option, since AZbox HD then searches for connections between transponders/providers and therefore new transponders, which are not yet in various lists that come with FW... Put the settings/channel list in manually One can do the same thing via FTP [FileZilla] -> into DISK2 folder on your AZbox HD. First delete those 3 files you will find in the settings bundles you may find on the net [Sofrenic and telesat made some, for instance; they are fairly comprehensive, made for motorised users, so others can edit them, to their own needs]. Reboot. Here is how to work with FileZilla Client, allowing you to do the above task, among other things. Download it from the net, it's gratis, ( FileZilla - Client Download ), install and start. Connect with your AZbox HD via FTP[FilleZilla Client]à put in your AZbox HD IP in the Host box (something like 192.168.x.x), use root as username and azbox (or whatever it may be) as password, port 22 [Mbox CC will use port 21] in the appropriate boxes then click on -> Quickconnect (later you will only need to use Reconnect, under Server, since FZ saves this data). In FZ Client settings I choose Edit -> Settings -> Interface -> Widescreen. That gives me 2 main windows [PC and AZbox HD], each of which has 2 more windows: a tree and a view of a chosen folder. Then, it is easy to drag&drop from one to the other, in speed... Drag and drop -> click on a file or group of files, to choose it/them, then left-click on them and do not let go, drag to the folder in the other machine, let go. You will see if the transfer was successful in the top part of FZ. Sometimes, in AZbox HD, if one can’t see a plug-in (on the TV screen, using the remote), after a transfer, one needs to do the CHMOD command to a folder and/or some or maybe the whole of its content. Right click on it and go to -> File Permissions -> 755 -> OK. |

7) Let’s start downloading plug-ins into AZbox HD Make sure you're online ["connected"] for the next step. How? HOME -> Settings -> System Information. If you cannot see “connected”, that is to say an IP address assigned to your AZbox HD, the first thing you can do is to reboot. Then, if you're still not online, check the LAN cable or your wireless settings, your modem/router etc. When you are online, download and install OpenXCAS [press HOME -> Plug-in -> Add plug-inred button] -> and when done reboot!!! This will allow you to download and install directly into AZbox HD various Emulators/CS SW/”plug-ins”, which will either read or emulate original and pirate smartcards, connect to your peers/servers in terms of Card Sharing [CS] etc. If you cannot do it, that is because you do not have the links from which to do it, as they do not come included in official FWs. There are different ways of adding them to your AZbox HD Menu: Support servers, full of “plug-ins”... of all sorts!!! Now one can quickly and easily (than file-by-file, via FTP, which we will describe later on) download directly into your AZbox HD and automatically install – if one is connected to the net... Some of these plug-ins or add-ons, sitting on those servers I am now going to describe, have additional files, which are already configured, so you do not have to bother too much... Countless thanx to enthusiasts who made the huge and consistent effort, in their spare time (studying all this, testing, experimenting, debating, packing them and uploading it all for all of us to use with ease), due solely to their good will and capacity to share. For me, these are the really rich people, capable and willing of giving freely!!! ...almost full plug-ins are awaiting... Of course, not everything can be in those files. For instance, the private details re. CS (peer or cwshare files), must be edited by each and every one of us, depending on our peer's servers to which we need to connect etc. There is a lot of stuff written on the subject, across many forums, like Satdudez, Sat-Plus, Sat-Universe and so on... for which I am partly to blamed, hehe... OK, let's get down to the thing itself: there are 2 places where we can edit/add those links, from which one can download all that into one's AZbox HD! 1) Press the HOME button on your remote and go to -> Plug-ins -> red button on your remote [= "add plug-in"] -> edit the links Here are mine: http://azupd.com http://azboxworld.com http://www.islaremota.com/azp - thanx to the guys from azboxhd.es/foro/foro.php http://www.descargas.azboxhd.es – not sure who is behind this one... 2) Press the HOME button on your remote and go to Plug-ins -> OpenXCAS -> Manual install -> edit the links. http://azboxworld.com http://www.islaremota.com/aza www.satelites.info/azbox/ - thanx to BE-COOL www.azboxhd.no-ip.org - thanx to DJBlu One can edit them by pressing the blue button. Leave one of the links in each of the two parts as azboxworld.com - the "semi-official" one, as it were.... A note: one gets the sign " / " by pressing the CAPS/NUM on your remote a couple of times, then 1 = / etc. etc. Also, use that button to change between the caps, numbers etc. Now, you're going to get a whole new world of support for AZbox HD, which will, no doubt, grow and grow... Let me show you just one of them, thanx to our Spanish colleagues [thanx to terrorman for the list!!!]: If one hates to use one’s remote, one can edit the links via FTP, in the box itself by pressing the blue button on your remote. Do not add more than 4 links, as it's useless - thanx to PR2! Edit the file /EMU/plugins.conf [SERVER] PLUGINS_SERVER_1=http://www.azupd.com PLUGINS_SERVER_2=http://www.descargas.azboxhd.es PLUGINS_SERVER_3=http://www.islaremota.com/azp PLUGINS_SERVER_4=http://www.satelites.info/azbox/ Edit the file /EMU/OpenXCAS/addons.conf [SERVER] CAMD_SERVER_1=http://azboxworld.com CAMD_SERVER_2=http://www.islaremota.com/aza CAMD_SERVER_3=http://www.satelites.info/azbox/ CAMD_SERVER_4=http://www.descargas.azboxhd.es AUTO_MY_SERVER=http://azboxworld.com Thanx to terrorman and the lads from http://AZboxHD.es for all this ('till today, 21st Aug '09): * Servidor FirmWares: http://www.islaremota.com/azf * Servidor Plugins: http://www.islaremota.com/azp * Servidor Addons: http://www.islaremota.com/aza FirmWares: 0.9.1868 0.9.2032 0.9.2034 0.9.2163 0.9.2371 Plugins: OpenXCAS OpenXCAS2 OneStep_EMU MultiCAS IncubusCamD gCam CCcaminfo_v1.3 Tevee4yu GoogleMap WebCamViwer LiveFeeds LiveScores SudoQ TuxChess WeatherForecast BISS mwkeytest SCD dbf4all MBoxInfo Speed Addons: MultiCAS_v157D-4T11-6_2k90704.tar.gz MultiCAS_v157D-4T11-2_2k90613.tar.gz MultiCAS_v157D-4T10.tgz MultiCAS_v157D-4T7_2k90514.tgz MultiCAS_v157C_2k90325.tgz SBox_v0.0.4-4_FULL.tar.gz NewCS_v1.67.RC1_FULL.tar.gz NewCS_v1.67.RC1_UPD.tar.gz NewCS_Full.tgz CCcam_v0.2_FULL.tar.gz CCcam_v0.2_UPD.tar.gz CCcam_v0.1_FULL.tar.gz CCcam_v0.1_UPD.tar.gz AutoIncubusChg_FULL.tar.gz IncubusCamd_v0.55.tgz MBox_v6_r0010_FULL.tar.gz MBox_v6_r0010_UPD.tar.gz MBox_v6_r0006_FULL.tar.gz MBox_v6_r0006_UPD.tar.gz Mbox_v0.5b_build.v0024_FULL.tgz Mbox_v0.5b_build.v0024_UPD.tgz Mbox_v0.4b_build.v0023_FULL.tgz Mbox_v0.4b_build.v0023_UPD.tgz NewCS_IncubusCamd.tgz NewCS_IncubusCamd_Mbox.tgz NewCS_Mbox.tgz MGCamD_v1.33_UPD.tar.gz MGCamD_Full.tgz SCDXCas_Full.tgz NAS.tar.gz |

These pearls bring colours to our otherwise black TVs... A little “extra” but “basic info”: what is Card Sharing? Card Sharing is: connecting your receiver [in this case AZbox HD] with a specific SW in your receiver [the latest FW plus CS SW, like Mbox,MGcamd, CCcam or MultiCAS] with your friends' receivers or PCs[“servers”]. Your friends [“peers”] will have Original Smart Cards [OSCs] or Emulators you do NOT have. You connect with them via the internet in order to watch the programs those OSCs/EMU’s can open. With CS you have those cards, too – if “only” virtually. But you can still watch the programs those OSCs/EMU’s can open, provided your friends are constantly "online" and you can connect to their receivers or PCs and the connection is fairly fast and stable. Your AZbox HD, btw, is connected to the net via your router or PC, i.e. a LAN cable [Elite and Premium models] or via WLAN [only Premium – no USB dongle possibility for now]. Create a free DynDNS account Why?Most IP addresses are dynamic, i.e. they change periodically. This is the way to connect regardless of the fact that your IP addresses may change. Go to www.dyndns.org -> go to “Account”/"create account”. Once you enter all the details and create an account, get the confirmation email. Click on the link in the email to go to www.dyndns.org -> “Services”. Select Dynamic DNS [even if your IP doesn't change all the time] -> select “Add Dynamic DNS”. Just create the name you want and do not use Enable wildcardMailexchanger. Click Add host. Log into your DynDNS account, for a few minutes - on their website - once a week, so they don't delete your account. Sometimes they do it, without any notice! Then, you must repeat the procedure. Let me also mention that there are other similar, gratis services! Just search on the net! Setup your router/modem! After that put the DynDNS details into your Router to enable your DynDNS Service updater in it, so DynDNS Service is updated every time you change your IP address and your friends can find you through the DynDNS address. Namely, in your router's DDNS options [if you have more than one]: choose DynDNS, then -> put your newly created DynDNS account username, then DynDNS account password, then Hostname [like myname.dyndns.org - this is just an example, create your own name!!] How does one get into one's router? Using your browser, like Firefox, of course. You will see the router's interface after putting http://192.168.x.x or so, into the address field of your browser, then your router's username and password, which you will find in the router's documentation. That address, i.e. the DynSNS hostname you just created is always going to be the same, even though your IP address might change every time you logon/get online/boot your PC. Now SAVE all that or APPLY or ENABLE, whatever is in your Router's interface, so you do not lose all those settings Now, to port forwarding!. After that you need to forward some ports in your Router. That allows your CS SW to go to the net and connect with other PCs, in this case a Server with your friends' cards, the stuff you want to watch... Btw, usually many different people end up in the network, so all kinds of packages can be seen!!! In other words, opening up of various ports enables you to get into the dark, pirate world – but of vivid colours, nevertheless and all that through those little backdoors, called ports heheeeeee... This will devilishly keep you busy for a while, you'll see... or More details regarding the router setup All manner of documents for various routers and modems, so no one will fail in sorting it all out for themselves, one can see on the net: http://www.portforward.com/ - some details to learn about, i.e. http://www.portforward.com/routers.htm - routers Whatever you'll see here might not correspond to your own machine but the principles explained here will apply, for minimally intelligent people, at least - given the absence of heavy-duty spiritual laziness and a minimum of self-belief! For more details, have a look at your router's documentation, of course... So, let’s explain the principle of Port Forwarding. In my modem, it's under Applications and Gaming -> Port Range Forwarding. Now, name an “application” [it's best to use your peer’s nickname, because usually you will open more than just one or two ports for CS -then each could be named after your friend]. Put the Port Range as follows: -your port [the one you have to give to your friend to put into his cwsahre.cfg or peer.cfg, together with your DynDNS and Pass] and -his port - the one he gave you, where you will be let into his machine, just do the same as above but name it after your friend, so you know which one is which. From experience, it is easier to forward the same port your friend opened for you, as there is no chance you can swap them by mistake... In that case, -the same port should be in Start and End little box, then -UDP or Both Protocols, depending on the CS SW protocol, and -add your IP address, plus tick it at the end, so it is active. {At least that is how it is in my Linksys Router.} -check your PC's IP address by clicking on the Network Icon in the Systray -> Support and you'll see it. Occasionally it may change, if you get another device connected to the network, so check it, if CS SW is not working. It looks normally something like 192.168.1.101 or so. One can check it also by going to Start -> My Network Places -> View Network Connections -> click on the active icon à the details are in the lower left hand corner. That is, check your AZbox HD IP address as described above... Now go to the bottom of the page and SAVE/APPLY SETTINGS! If you did it the right way it should all be saved and you will see it the way you want it to be, right in front of you. More on CS a little later, when I'll be writing about specific CS SW in detail, with all the juicy stuff included, like which files exactly and how to edit it etc. Most of it is from my GBox experience!!! |

MultiCAS Emu and CS!!! Home -> Plug-ins -> enter OpenXCAS by pressing the OK button on your remote and go to Manual Install option -> http://azboxworld.com to -> install MultiCAS “plug-in”-> press OK on your remote, to see whatever's at the link provided -> choose the latest MultiCAS version -> when done, reboot! A note: there are various “plug-ins”. Some are Emulators, emulating Original Smart Cards [OSC], decrypting encrypted satellite, terrestrial or cable channels, if those encryption systems are hacked and so those cards can be “read” and “emulated”. One of them is MultiCAS EMU, reading many cards but also opening many channels that are using various hacked CAS [= encryption systems]. Some other “plug-ins” are a mixture of EMU and CS SW [= Card Sharing SW]. We shall come to it later, when we shall speak of, for instance, MGcamd. Some other “plug-ins” are simply fetching EMU’s the working keys from the net. And so on... Enjoy discovering... Checking if MultiCAS EMU works Go to, say, TV Globo on Hot Bird and wait for the AU to create a working key, meaning MultiCAS is active and functioning properly with all the valid Master Keys. Here is exactly how to do it: Activate MultiCAS via HOME -> Plug-ins -> OpenXCAS -> Activate -> MultiCAS must NOT have # in front of it, which is done by using the blue button, then restart it by pressing the yellow button (then OK) and the OK button (OK again). Sometimes it is necessary to reboot AZbox HD via remote. Press OK when it restarts, then go into TV part of the Menu -> TV Globo, which should open up very soon... Well, at least it used to. These days it might not be automatic [= AU = autoroll], so don’t waste your time. Digi TV on 1'W might also not be AU but both of them are still watchable with our EMU's. So, you might need to put in the relevant active, working key, as they are both encrypted in Nagra2, which is hacked! You can do it via your remote. Putting a working key into MultiCAS, via remote... When you don't feel like searching for or can't change the full version what can you do? Find a key on the net, for educational purposes only, of course... <wink, wink> Where? The forums I already mentioned have the keys sections, where I get the active working key and then... HOME button on your remote controller -> Plug-ins -> OpenXCAS -> Activation & Priority Settings -> put the # in front of all Plug-ins, except MultiCAS, by using the blue button. Get out of the Menu, using the Exit button on your remote -> Camd Setup -> OK -> MultiCAS -> Edit And Convert Keys -> sub-menu Nagravision -> right arrow on your remote -> "down" arrow on your remote -> find the Digi TV section -> Ident [2011 - warning: for Dream, Humax etc. receivers the Ident is 2111 but don't let that worry you!] -> put the key in now... If, for instance, key 00 was active, one must edit it in 2 parts, as the Nagra keys are "broken" in two parts: for key 00, the first part is Index 00,the other is 10; for key 01 it’s 01 & 11. So, choose a relevant part of the key [in this case it's 00 20 11 00] by pressing the remote OK button and then one gets a new window to edit the old key. Put the first part in, then hit the Save button on your TV screen, then the other part [in this case it's 00 20 11 01], then Save. Get out of that sub-Menu, using the Exit button, then go to Activation & Priority Settings, restart MultiCAM, using the yellow and/or OK buttons -> OK -> then get out using the Home button -> TV -> OK and.... [if the key is correct and you put it in precisely] – colours [heheeee]!!! Thanx to Ribolovac from Ex-Yu sat forum, for the "how to" video: YouTube - az box edit kljuceva MultiCAS is now a CS SW, too! We can now see a Card Splitter sub-menu, so one can share one's card, in built-in card reader, either inside one's home or outside. Allegedly, it has its own protocol. One must have at least FW 0.9.2880, for it to work. Home -> Plug-ins -> OpenXCAS -> Camd Setup -> MultiCAS. Then, in Smartcard Interface one finds Smart Card Splitter sub-menu, where one must put in various data, depending on whether one want to be: -server to another receiver, sharing your card with another -client and hook onto somebody else's card/server. In both cases one must put in IP addresses in the relevant boxes, to make it work... There is a third option: one can switch it off, too. I haven't yet had a chance to test it, sadly... but soon... I hope... |

MGcamd: the best EMU we have today! There are 3 ways of doing this one: All the necessary files for the "manual installation" [using FileZilla] and “advanced” info can easily be found on the net. Get MGcamd for AZbox HD from the net and unpack. Then, you’ll need to edit it a bit. Initially, I couldn't get it to work as a CS SW. Because I made a silly mistake: I had the same line in my peer.cfg file and priority.list - X lines clashed. I removed it from my peer file and all works just fine!!! Just edit the details in your peer.cfg file as follows: Quote:
After that, in your AZbox HD, make the mgcamd folder in OpenXCAS folder, give it CHMOD rights to 755 and upload all these files into your AZbox HD and CHMOD to 755, all the files. In EMU/OpenXCAS/mgcamd folder edit the openxcas.conf to add Quote:
Activate MGcamd in OpenXCAS -> Activation and priority setting, then reboot. Manual installation of the whole, already edited package If one gets [usually my] full package [“augmented” with RedBull’s MGcamd key files] from the net, and wants to update one’s own manually: simply FTP the whole content of the mgcamd file and give the rights at least to mgcamd modul, autoroll.key & softcam.key files -> CHMOD to 755. You can do it for all files, if you want to. Reboot AZbox HD. Then, restart MGcamd, using your remote's OK button. Sometimes you must change the channel you’re on, otherwise it won’t start. Direct download and installation, from the net into AZbox HD Home -> Plug-ins -> enter OpenXCAS by pressing the OK button on your remote -> go to Manual Install option to install MGcamd -> OK on a link -> choose MGcamd and when it's done reboot. I recommend the islaremota.com/aza link to get the MGcamd_Full version! Also, from there, install a plug-in called SCDXCas, which updates the working keys for MGcamd automatically. Once installed, simply activate both of them by removing the # sign in front of both, then restart all the EMU’s, then MGcamd in particular, as we explained before - and wait a bit... If necessary, reboot and change a channel. What can you clear, using this fab EMU? Everything that is publicly hacked, using the EMU function of this gorgeous SW [as opposed to its CS part, as a client to GBox etc.].Thanx to Sorglos, Minicat and RedBull, updating it! Quote:

NewCS: the best server/card reader we have! What is NewCS? This plug-in will read most cards. One can connect it with other CS SW. You will see some good examples a little later! Cards can be read in the embedded reader or an external one, plugged into AZbox HD USB port (Infinity or similar programmer in Phoenix mode.) If it isn't a USB programmer you'll need a serial to USB adapter cable, to connect older programmers/card readers, with your AZbox HD, since it doesn't have a serial port. Installation: Home -> Plug-ins -> enter OpenXCAS by pressing the OK button on your remote and go to Manual Install option to install NewCS, as described above -> reboot. When ready to use, in order to start it manually and see what is going on, do it via Telnet (get the PuTTy application, it's free), one needs the following commands: Quote:
Various versions – which one is for you? Here’s more info, thanx to Tinos – just to explain that these are special files, written for AZbox HD specifically, “without web interface or chameleon code in it.”: Quote:

One must mention, however, that now, with a newer version of NewCS (v. 1.20), there is no need for Infinity! Quote:
The newest version is out today [20th August 2009]: v.1.67 RC1 – but it doesn’t work with the AZ internal reader. The good news is that the originators/founders of NewCS are now writing for AZbox HD also. The previous versions for AZbox HD were older versions modified for AZbox HD, by other people, not the NewCS guys Various versions available on different support servers. Let me add that one can now download and install rather easily – directly into AZbox HD [from the islaremota link mentioned above] - a pre-configured full version of NewCS or various combinations of NewCS_IncubusCamd, then NewCS_IncubusCamd_Mbox, as well as NewCS_Mbox! One must still edit it, in order to make one’s own OSC to work. Different OSCs may have different requirements, so one must learn and edit the necessary files accordingly. Let me repeat that NewCS will work really well in conjunction with MGcamd, as its card reader, as well as Mbox, and CCcam CS SW. One must activate it by removing the # sign in front of it, if one is to use it. Two examples of NewCS configuration as card reader/server Thanx to Tinos for the following example! Quote:

Here is Taykun's example (RTV SLO).
Like the one above, this reply has been added to my thread over on good, ol' Satdudez forum Quote:
Last notes on NewCS I will try to bother guys to add more of such examples for various cards, on Satdudez and other good forums... Start from here: http://www.satdudez.org/forum/showthread.php?t=114465] NewCS: a few Q's - let's get all the crucial info together, guys... - Satdudez[/URL] and Sign In – for the Mbox connection... Not to forget: NewCS works really well in tandem with MGcamd, in full capacity, i.e. like a server but so that the card can get the EMMs, i.e. it can be updated. That does not work with Mbox, although we can hear they are working on it. Two new server/card reader plug-ins for AZbox HD There is a new programmer writing a card reading “plug-in” for AZbox. The plug-in is called SBox and it can be directly and easily downloaded into your AZbox HD and installed. Not only that but now we also have MPCS, reading cards and emulating, i.e. opening everything that is hacked, using keys, not just via CS! |
