Default Eurovox max for satellite reception?

I have read on the web the description of eurovox max as being suitable for both satellite and cable reception. I know that satellite and cable receivers use different modulation schemes. Also satellite receivers provide the power feed for the LNB. Can sombody enlighten me on how eurovox max can be used for satellite reception if this is possible.

Cable and Satellite receivers use different tuners, you would need to find a Eurovox with a Satellite tuner - but I've never seen one

Thanks for the reply. I was wondering if it was just a matter of firmware fix as opposed to hardware in terms of the tuner. I guess a DVB-S tuner is required.

Hi there. just had an idea and was wondering wether or not to post it, so here goes..

Does anyone think that it would be possible to take a satelite tuner out of a sky digibox and install it into a eurovox max v?

also do you think that a firmware could be written for this?

I think that it would be very popular as there are more channels on sky..

the reason i am asking this is because on the box it refers to it as a satelite reciever. Upon looking inside the box it has a cable tuner? strange....

I don't think so, No.

Besides there would be no point, you might just as well use a Sky digibox in the first place.

There are no hacks for Sky, so a Europox box would be of little use.

Not sure why the Europoxes are advertised for satellite use, it probably has something to do with the sellers not knowing the difference between cable and satellite.
