Default Hello from Downunder

Hi Everyone,

I am new to this all Settalite TV thing.

What bought me here ? I had a KU band dish installed at my place with some kind of card that was able to decrypt the channels. After working for a month or so things have change. The guy who installed it is looking for another 100$ to make it working again without any garuntee that when it will stop. Paying 100$ per month is not somehting I will be comfortable with.

Here is my setup.
Strong SRT 4661X
Ku band dish pointing to Optus D2
C band dish pointing to AsiaSat4

In some discussion I found out that provider might have changed HSN to kill Gammas and the same person mentioned "Only CAS users are able to view channels with ECM And EMM off".

Can someone please explain it to me that how this whole system works ? All i know that my friend paid 100$ to get it working and all that guy did is he came in to change the reciever with another one (same model) and used the same card that was already in the previous reciever.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Welcome, you probably need to post the question in the right section if you haven't done it already or already or it could be answered already. Your experience seems very similar to times gone by in the UK when jolly rogers would extract money out of you to programme cards that didn't last. Now it's self help since the market in having it done for you is now illegal in the UK, best to have a managed market.

Are you really down under ?.
