Default Linux vs. Windows

I would like to know everyone's opinion on using either windows or linux web hosting. In my opinion I prefer linux since it seems to be much cheaper, and made to be a web server. There is much more open content management systems out there for linux then windows. Also I really like using php over asp.

Linux, easily, for hosting.

The thing about Linux is that you have php/mysql and similar to run software platforms on, and there's such a great selection often using important, innovative, or just plain essential features - that I find Windows simply doesn't support easily.

I mean, seriously, how many search engine friendly ASP forums or blogs are there out there? Heck, how many different platforms, even? Not as many on Linux running PHP.

2c.

Also Linux is more secure than Windows, reason being a lot of people hate microsoft makin millions so they try hard to hack Windows, whereas not many people try to hack Linux!

there are thousend things which are better i cant explain every thing here . just see one thing if you see linux version of 2000 and 2007 i mean the red hat flavour after 7.0 release. and then see diference between windowsa 98 and xp ./ MS copied every single feature of hem and launched Vista. just as a sample 7.0 Red Hat's built in Apache Server(web server) has more than 30,000 Options in its configuration file. where MS rather than improving their server has changed its compatibilty you can run Apache on window now !!!!!
