I tried everywhere yesterday including maplins and told I was the 50th person looking to purchase a null modem cable, after visting various computer shops found one at £6.99 so think demand will exceed supplies for the next few days.
Prior to this I had tried all the various keys on Bigmaq to no avail , I also tried to follow some of the download instructions, just download the lates fix on Bigmaq which in my case was Eurovox max v 2008 kuro image fix
connect null modem cable to pc and box, i left box in standby mode and just press download on kuro application once loaded, ignore some of the other information on this site that mentions dabbaman/dnupman and selecting firmware you dont need it, once into the menu and the scan option don'y change the symbol rate 6.952 to 6.887 as someone advises, very much depends on your area, mine is warringtin which is 6.952 so wasted a good 30 minutes following the 6.887 and had to undo, good luck, you can always try bowlers computer fair trafford park manchester if come unstuck with null cabe

Thanks
yes matey, you see the count thing top left...1/770 or summit like that, that counts upwards..2/770, 3/770, 4/770, etc etc... think mine started finding the channels at 300/770..... just leave it, if it finds none, then the freq needs changing from 6.952 to 6.887 then powerscan again..

hello everybody, i am here to help people, if there boxes keep saying please wait cannel updating. follow this.

take your time and read every step before attempting.

1st use google search.
2nd try tying "bigmaq toolbar".
3rd download + install.
click on the keyicon on toolbar.
select your area and ex cable provide eg telepest/nt/cable.
write down these numbers.
??????????????
??????????????
these only work in your area hence why have to have your area codes.

next.
go to your box.
press...menu>langu.
type in 19681968.
you now have a screen with names of cable providers.
read the 4 digits numbers in the colum marked provider.
write them down????????.

next.
exit back to black screen (if in doubt pull the power lead and plug it back in).

now here this.

menu>yellow>enter in the four figures for your provider id you wrote down.

enter the two lines of codes for you actual area.
press ok
press ok
press blue
press exit.

this is very easy, i just done it and everything back to work, if anybody need help please ask me.

i got the codes for essex,if anyody need it.

thanks

You need the RS232 to update your box with the new firmware, so you don't have to update the keys daily, if Vírgín decide to roll keys everyday.
