I'm in warrington area & was planning to go to Maplins for a null modem cable - obviously they are out of stock. Where did you get yours?
I have an old PC with the required connection for this cable, but like others my new PC only has USB ports - is it worthwhile getting a USB to Serial 9-pin cable instead?

avtar matey, what your saying is fine for a temp fix, but hopefully flashing the box with the a new firmware (you need a rs232 cable) will be a more permanent fix.

yeah i understand it, but if somebody don't know what to do, that's the easy way to go, and the code only taking 5 minutes to restart the box.

if your box is not working please follow the instruction i just wrote down on page nunmber 25, its help. if anybody need more help please ask.

I have noted how to load the keys and did it OK on Thursday. Everything back to normal and had TV back.
Came home on Friday to do the same but this time, they do not work for me. I have the new keys but this time I do not get "please wait etc" I get service unknown.
Any ideas what happened?
I know about the perm. fix but am not able to get out and get the null modem cable today.....

I have got a eurvox max 2006 blue and every thing is ok at the moment but can anybody help i have a box called select a view-500 as well and i can't find any information on it.is it a snyd or is there another name for it ;help please.

when i plug in my eurovox it says found new hardwear MOTOROLA COMP MODEM AND INSERT DISK TO INSTALL AND THEN SAYS USB SERIAL DISK NEEDED I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO ??????????

so...your trying to flash the box?..yes?.....your plugging the null modem lead from the box to your p.c and windows pops up with.'found new hardwear MOTOROLA COMP MODEM AND INSERT DISK TO INSTALL'
have you downloaded the firmware software already,unzipped it and its sat there waiting to be used?..
im no expert and id wait for someone a lot cleverer than i to confirm....but id ignore what windows is saying and run the new firmware file.

but like i say...wait until this is confirmed.
