First Post so here goes.....
I have just brought an EX5000 PVR and have spent the last couple of days setting it up after encountering various issues. (most of which I solved by searching posts on this forum, thanks guys!!). Any way, I have one issue remaining that is driving me nuts!!! First let me give you where I am so far:
-Box is EX5000 PVR
-Flashed with 1.1a
-Area is CR5 (Croydon)
-Provider is VM
-Power Scan performed without Splitter
-Power Scan tried on all three steps (6.7 and 8)
-Picks up around 150 Channels.
My issue is the main reason I brought the box was so I could watch football upstairs. I am getting the sky sports channels but no Setanta sports 1 or two. I get Setanta News and Golf but not the main channels. I have been searching around for the frequencies for these in my area but to no avail!! Any body got any ideas? Thanks in advance!!

I have this same issue with one of the 3 boxes that I have installed in a location. The other 2 boxes work fine and I have also tried this box in one of the other 2 locations and it works fine. I have managed to work out that the issue with this one box lies with the cable from the splitter to the 3rd box. It is not of good enough quality to pass the full signal correctly. This has resulted in no Setanta Sports 1, 2, sky sports 2 or extra. To resolve this issue I am going to have to replace the cable with a straight connection from the splitter to the box.

Thanks. Not sure that this is the same issue as I have removed the splitter and have the box plugged into the main supply. All the sky sports channels work fine it is just Setanta. Does any body in the Croydon area have the freq for setanta so I can try and manully add these?

hi guys, i found an old eurovox, looks like an ev2 i fixed(with you help)for my dad a while back. difference being the 9 pin port on the back of my box is male where my dad's was female. i bought a mini gender changer to convert the cable to female. i'm using the exact same files that i used to fix my dad's but the firmware download screen is saying 'waiting for the responce of your receiver and has been for a while. help please!!

Firstly hi first time on here!!!
Bit of a problem.....
Recieved a eurovox max v (or whatever its called!) i'm not the most computer literate person in the world but i did the download thingy on my computer.....and the display read PEAA i had no idea what that meant but hey who does??
Unplugged it from the pc and connected it to the tv together with ntl cable and did the power search thingy and eventually i now have a list of channels (thats the good bit) but on all of the scrambled channels it just says please wait,code being updated...waited for like ten minutes on various scrambled channels but no joy...PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you certain the box you bought is a Eurovox Max V?

You may have downloaded the wrong firmware - on the box go into Menu/Config/System Information and tell us what date appears beside the heading S/W Ver

Hi all,

Just got a EUROVOX EX5000 PVR with 120GB HDD. Managed to update the firmware 2nd time ok and started up ok as well. Manage to do a quick install and the box starts to scan and finds CNN and goes there, and in all finds 11 channnels only. I have left and box to continue scanning, but the ( code being updated ) does not come on screen.
Does anyone know what is wrong. I have tried the right code for the SP I have and have also tried manual install with same result.
The stats are, Frequncy 118.000 MHZ, symbol rate 6.952 for TW, Modulator QAM64 and quality 83%.
I would appreciate any help guys.

Just got a eurovox max 2008,im only picking up free view channels.I cant get any sports,movies etc,its just coming up with..please wait codes updating.
