hi ,
i am looking for help for last 2 weeks to bring back my 15 dead boxes. AS THEY WERE CLONE. i bought a tailor made jtag and files i need help with 2 things. i have heard from another forum that you can bring back your starview box with out lifting the chips or soldering apperntly there is a button to reset the box and then you can transfer files from Box to box with out a pc. cant find Reset button in the box anywhere, does anyone know how to reset the box. other thing is can someone just send me a picture of a jtag soldering point on the box Please. i know it needs lot of effort but it will save my 1000 £.
Thanks for your time.

Hi all,

I am finding this whole process of flashing my eurovox really annoying. I have two eurovox's which are running fine but one of them decided to wipe all the channel data, not sure why!!!!???? Anyway instead of going through The whole process of programming the channel manager i thought i might just upload my channel data of my other box and just transfer the data across..... yeah right!

I have the dubaman program and cables to upload but when i go to 'save' and then 'upload' i just get a message saying
'NO AVAILABLE COM PORT' how the hell do i sort that out. Having read loads and loads of peoples comments about this eurovox flashing etc it seems that nobody else has had the same problem as me. Can anyone explain how i resolve this problem 'com port' problem?

Cheers All
AndyP

the reset button is inside the unit, look at the main circuit board around the center you will see a small square block with a push button in the middle.

press - menu/ Config/ system information/ 1968

if you can borrow another box it can be restored by set to set transfer.
Remove lid from faulty box and locate reset button.
Connect both boxes with null modem cable.
Go to Menu on working box,/ config/ system info/ then enter 1968 on remote
2 hidden options appear 'set to set download'
1. program code download
2. channel data download
program download should show.
press reset button on faulty box and wait a moment to see if dnld shows in display, might have to try a few times for it to catch or need to press OK on remote. Should start to download and when complete box will be restored.
Hope this helps.

DOES THIS METHOD WORK ON CLONED EV MAX'S AS WELL, AND DOES IT EFFECT THE WORKING BOX....... IF ANY1 HAS DONE THIS PLEASE COULD YOU TELL ME THE RESULTS. THANKS

it should not affect the working box.
and it should work on clones, but if the clone has been killed by the 01/06/07 firmware, then this method may not work, you wil just have to give it a go, nothing to loose by trying it

ive also read somewhere something about holding the button down while you power on the box and holding it for several seconds puts it into some kind of boot mode
ive not tried this maybee somone with a dead clone could give it a go
and let us know what happes when doing this

In the first post on this Tutorial thread there's a link to a Loader Utility. Out of interest I clicked on it and up popped a green NT* page saying 404 page not found etc. Is big brother watching us??
