Default Petition starts about BBC HD quality

Petition starts about BBC HD quality--December 31, 2009

The BBC and its supporters may claim that the quality of the picture on the BBC HD channel has not changed, but there are a growing band of TV Licence fee payers that disagree.

In fact this complaint is set to move onto a different level with an online petition on the official Number 10 website being started, calling on the Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, to make the BBC HD channel fall in line with other European standards.

The quality of the picture was fine until the beginning of August when the bitrate dropped by almost forty per cent from 16 Mbps to 9.7 Mbps following the introduction of new encoders.

Since then satellite viewers have been complaining about the quality of service, but these complaints have been dismissed by the BBC, which claims that the picture quality remains unchanged.
