Default BT Vision launches new black set top box

BT Vision launches new black set top box--January 5 2010

BT Vision has launched a new Vision+ set top box in glossy black which is claimed to deliver energy efficient performance.

Designed to fit with the black BT Home Hub wireless router, the new receiver features a 160GB hard drive to record and store up to 80 hours of TV programming. As the box is IP-enabled, users can also access BT Vision's on-demand services for TV and films.

BT claims that the new receiver will deliver 12% reduced power consumption when in use to bring the product in line with European Union energy regulations.

A remote control supplied with the box also features enlarged characters to make it easier to use in low light conditions or for the visually impaired.

"We are always looking at ways in which we can improve BT Vision," said BT Vision chief executive Marc Watson.

"The new BT Vision+ box is not only better looking, it also consumes less energy, something that we know is extremely important to our customers."

The black receiver will be available without charge for any customers ordering BT Vision TV services online before January 15.
