Telekom expands HDTV offer via IPTV--Monday, 11 January 2010

German telco Deutsche Telekom will distribute public broadcasters ARD and ZDF as well as cultural channel ARTE in high-definition on its IPTV platform T-Home Entertain from February. The new channels will be available to all VDSL customers at no additional charge.

By adding Das Erste HD, ZDF HD and ARTE HD, Telekom further expands its HD line-up which currently comprises Anixe HD and MTVNHD. Also, all games of soccer Bundesliga are transmitted in the new TV technology on Telekom's Bundesliga channel LIGA total!.

Furthermore, the TV archive and video library Videoload which are part of T-Home Entertain contain more than 500 titles in HD. The offer includes Hollywood movies such as Star Trek and Illuminati, US series such as Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy and Lost as well as documentaries from Discovery Channel.
