Lightbulb satellite cards and programming them

Hi all,
Im brand new to satellite tv,Iv'e a Technomate 700 series receiver with two viaccess card slots.
I have a "gold card" purchased from E-bay with which I was able to access several french tv channels, including one which showed premiership footy with french subtitles.
I cannot now receive these channels.
I have recently bought a card programmer which I would like to use to upgrade the info on the card, can anyone help??????
