hi paul,
this is how to patch and what you need. ****************************** [1] you need a null modem cable.[ female to female connections]. [2] make a folder in your doc's. call it- [ patches] *********************************************** [3] download the patch file and loader panel. put the files in the folder [ patches ] then you can find the files. [4] explore the patch file and loader in this folder. [5] connect the null modem cable from the pc:-[ com port] to the receiver [rs232] port on rear of stb. ensure your tm7755 is switched on and tuned to a free to air channel. [i use bbc world chn] [6] from the patch folder, double click the loader panel to open. on the loader click the browse button and find the patch file, and load it on the loader panel. [7] click download on the loader panel, a progress bar will appear on the loader panel on your pc: the channel will go off and a message will appear on your tv screen:- saying firmware is being loaded. dont turn the receiver off. once the firmware upgrade is compleate your tm 7755 will shutdown and re-start.the channel will re-open, then turn off the receiver and remove the null modem cable from the rear of the receiver, turn on again. and exit the loader panel on your pc: [ congratulations you have patched your tm-7755 ] ********************************************* [9] if you intend to keep you tm 7775 patched, when you explore the loader panel make a short cut to your desktop and put the loader software back in it's folder and put it in your doc: where it wont be deleated, then when you update the patch you will have the loader at a click. ********************************************** this is the down side of this great little receiver the technomate 7755 does'nt get very much support for patches. the last patch was months ago. i use a dragon cam with mine, the tm1500ci is the model that gets the best support, so if you want to go for patching as you main way of getting the chns: open, i suggest you change to the 1500ci model. this is why i say this. a dragon/t-rex cam and a cas 3 programmer will cost you as much as buying a tm1500ci receiver. but if you aready own cams and programmers etc: keep the tm 7755 it's a good quality receiver. |

you need a usb to serial convertor, to connect a 9 pin cable to a usb port you can get these from maplins/pc world/computer fairs etc: if i was you mate i would part exchange your receiver for a tm 1500 model there is lots more support for the 1500, and not a lot for the 7755 most users of your model use the dragon/t-rex cam to open the channels. |
