Austrian IPTV reaches 100,000 customers--Sunday, 24 January 2010

Telekom Austria has reached the mark of 100,000 customers for its IPTV platform aonTV. The offer, which is distributed on the telco’s ADSL broadband network, had around 64,000 customers at the end of 2008.

The platform contains more than 90 TV channels, a digital video library with over 300 movies and TV series, HDTV offers, a TV archive, more than 300 radio stations and interactive services. The basic package is available from €4.90 per month. To this has to be added the ADSL subscription available from €15.98 per month and rental of aonTV’s MediaBox which costs €1.90 per month.

“With the aonTV MediaBox, which combines the TV set, PC and mobile phone, we have set new benchmarks in digital entertainment,” said Hannes Ametsreiter, CEO of Telekom Austria Group, in Vienna. “Besides the high-quality and diverse channel line-up, aonTV’s customers benefit from innovative functions which turn television into a personal and individual experience.”
