what is an image on a dbox2?

Hi everyone have a good new year, i have been reading these forums and ringing around to find a box with a good program guide and timer.I have been told to get a dbox2 and it is the image that will allow the dbox to do this.My first question is what is an image and how dose it work? is there any differance between a nokia and sagem box? and lastly should i get a dreambox as the dbox are old now and it is hard to find a good one or so i have been told.I have seen this on e**y EPG (electronic program guide, with info, switch and record timer) on a sagem can i get it on a nokia? i think that is what i am looking for thanks

Got one mate i dont no about yours but our epg is crap do you have any hints/trips for the starview?

nokias and sagems do exactly the same job, from my experience (4 years) i have found that the toughest Dbox is the Sagem 2xAMD chipset one, these seem to go on forever, very stable as well. The sagems are also cheaper than nokias although the nokias do look nicer cosmetically.

An image is basically a linux based operating system that tell the box what to do and when to do it, its just like you might have windows on your pc, but there are different versions of windows, eg, 95, 98, 200, millennium and XP, all of them have their own quality, well except maybe 95, that was crap.
