Eurovox Max Picture/Sound Problem

No joy on BBC3, in fact its like totaly vanished off the face of the planet... even after trying Nigels steps... doing the same procedure/flash firmware I did before I still cannot pick it up oddly... yet was fine on Friday and was present... lost few other odd channels also.

It seems I got Skymovies 5-9 to work/ and now BBC3 lost lol

Ill keep things like this for a while....

hello! if i do a factory reset does that mean i will need to re-upload the software onto the box? also, is there somewhere were i have to set my location?

secondly, i have problems also getting all the channels, at my last attempt i can only get 150 channels max, a few sports and movies but never all of them. a mate who lives a few miles away can get 1000 channels with absolutely everything. do i need to change the symbol rates on the CH NUM's aswell?

any help greatly appreciated

Firstly, when you go in factory restore it wil give you a choice of locations so you can choose your closet.
Secoundly, i am unsure wether you will have to upload your software again, mine came with it in.
Interesting that your friend gets 1000 channels perfectly. I am interested to know what 'factory reset' location he is on and what settings etc. I am rather jealous!
The general feeling is that most people can get most channels but only a few get em all.
By the way, i'm in the middle of erasing all channels, facotry resetting and power scanning to see what channels i get and how good, but on that note, every time i've power scanned i get a different combo of channels that are never the same (just wish the stopped chirping and cracking up on some!)

hey thanks for your input its greatly appreciated! a couple of people i know get about 1000 channels. just seems to be my cousins which doesnt pick up that many. everytime ive done a powerscan it comes back with a different combo of channels like you say.

im not exactly sure where to change the symbol rate for a powerscan, is this done on the chan num's? i can only change the symbol rate for a normal powerscan ratrher than a full. i will probably have another play aruond with it and will let people know how i get on

Resetting the box doesnt delete the firmware thats already on it

But for some reason it does help out big time and will allow u to search a bit more clearer/better and pick up more channels or lost channels thats what ive found in my own experiences, erasing the channels doesnt do much for me, Resetting helps alot more.

Im missing BBC3 sadly and u know it could have been ukgold or paramount or BBC4 even but nope had to be BBC3 the channel that shows Eastenders repeats if u miss it at 7-8pm

i too get a broken picture after doing a powerscan (200 odd channels), however if i do an autoscan i get 130 or so that work perfectly

if i choose other locations i get a different amount/selection of channels

i think the cable connections/splitters etc are a bit of a red herring


any ideas?

Glad im not the only one powerscan does indeed find alot more channels but the autoscan seems to capture the channels more stable, less freezing/breaking up I even find my missing movie channesl 5-9 with autoscan!

Im baffeled by it completly and its quite terrible really I suppose one could run an Autoscan but I couldnt miss out on half the other channels.

Was gonna try and sell the Eurovox box and go with the Starview box see if thats more reliable, although the Eurovox aint so bad its 20x more better/stabler then the Dreambox I had.

Splitters/Cables may still be the culprit.... but I have tested it directly with no splitters and still encounted the same exact issues ! Attenuators/boosters same effect.

Ive given up with the issue for a while cos got busy/work and all and noticed most folk just live and grin n bear it...

Its really strange how the good old Funcard + PACEbox thats 10 years old box just picks up all the channels (appart from the Adult/PPV and few new stuff) buts its completely stable and ZERO freezing/breaking up.

I done that step by step instuction on page 1 on power scan and its mucked my box right up. I now dont get any channels all i get is Channel unavailable and when i scan i dont get anything. When i do a factory default it scans and then says check cable status and then nothing. I fear that ive lost £100 for nothing. Is there a way of getting my channels back?

sounds like u gotta reset the channels/reset the box do both the resets.... cos if u dont reset both options the full scan doesnt tend to pick up anything or properly.
