Hi Leslysivo. I had this problem when I got my first box. Never got it tuned in and had to return it to vendor for replacement. Did you do a factory reset?

This isnt much help but it may be interesting Ive installed dozens of these boxes. early versions and new .I reckon about 50% of them give some kind of picture sound break up in varying degrees including my own. ive tried everything mentioned here and nothing makes any difference. But however the fault goes away on its own ,mines been perfect for months with just the ocasional flicker. A friends box was totaly unwatchable (bad turn of frase), but its gone fine on its own after weeks of misery. Installed one last saturday that will hardly work at all keeps flashing up no signal but it scans ok and gets all channels his own ntl box and internet work fine. connected the same box in my house and its perfect. I had a nokia dbox and it did exactly the same, some times dodgy then it would go ok for a while. a cable technician told me that the signal strength can vary wildly depending how near or far you are away from the source or repeaters. I can only think that the gear from ntl has a greater tolerance to signal variations. Well I warned you it woudnt help but hey ho

I agree with nij on this one. I had serious problems with this and it just went away one day. I had tried to reflash the box unsucessfully several times and put the correction down to turning the box on and off so many times at the power switch on the plug that somehow reset the problem. Anyway it has been working fine now for about five weeks and I don't care how I got it to work just delighted that it is. BTW this forum has really helped me to get through this problem.
Cheers guys

Hi, I purchased a Eurovox MaxV box 3 days ago and followed the installation to the 'T' using setting 6887 (ntl area) and did a power scan in a result of 317 channels, but channels on frequencies 339,347,355,363,371,379,387,395,411,419,427 and 435 (the first 12) keep breaking up (picture and sound) and a information panel coming up saying no signal. Checked the signal strength and all are giving 80 to 83%. PLease can anybody help.

You could give this a try, firstly i have my eurovox for about 18 months and up until yesterday had'nt been able to watch a single full programme on it because of jumpy picture and chirping etc, so i kept having a crack at it every couple of months or so, and yesterday finally cracked it, i read somewhere on this site about using the loop out socket instead so i tried it and got a slight improvement, so i persevered for a day or so experimenting with different cables and so on but could'nt manage to get a stable lock on, so i carried on scrolling through old threads and read something about trying an attenuator, so i trotted down to maplins and got a 6db attenuator (£4.99) and everything is good in the world again, i think it was the signal strength that was too high. Anyway i am missing a few channels like sky sports, uk gold and a couple more but what i have got are working perfectly, my set up is a 1.5m cable from the wall socket, a splitter then another 1.5m cable plugged into the attenuator and that is plugged straight into the back of my box via ariel connectors and such, so there you go happy bunny again, thanks to people who recommended to use the other socket and about the attenuator, much obliged.
