Default Ie 7

Does anyone have and use this program frequently? I just downloaded it as part of my security updates for my laptop, and I was wondering how it operates. Is it still a bit buggy, or seem to work fine?

I downloaded it as part of my security updates also. I have had no problems as of yet with it. Hopefully it will stay that way.

I was thinking about downloading 7.0, but wondered how much more space it uses than 6.0 - does anyone know?

I'm not entirely sure, not too much more I think. I did a quick search, and it looks like full install size is 12MB. IE 6 (with Service Pack 1) was also 12MB.

Thanks, FourBear. Yes, I recall 6.0 as being 12MB also. Maybe I will get busy and download 7.0 this weekend.

I have started using, but because I have a "illegal" copy of XP, even though I do have a xp home, as it came with the laptop, it comes with so much rubbish. It was a fiddle to get IE7, but its not too bad, no problems so far.

I have it...but I don't use it very often...maybe twice a month...and I'm not kidding...it takes so long to open...I have 768MB of ram...Firefox #1 in my opinion...although Opera is also good(I have it as well).

I think you should transfer to Firefox man. I don't know why really but IE7 is really heavy for the resources no matter how much you've spent on your computer.

IE7 is a pain if you run any apps where you want to control the installation of Active X controls. Oh and just try reverting back to IE6! Good luck!!!

I have one app that I use for work and Windows XPoo IE7 in it's infinite "I know better than someone who has been around since MultiUserDos" wisdom says "HEY Ive done you a massive favour by blocking this active X control which you really need!"..
IE7 also wont allow you to fully disable active X security. The best security level you can select is medium-low even with the advanced settings set to allow all active X.
If you do select it, you get constant warnings and guess what !!??
The bloody thing still blocks the control thinking its done you a sodding favour!

Stick with Opera or Mozilla. IE7 sucks
