Default Motor driver, DiSEqC problem?

I'm currently refurbishing my satellite equipment having finally built the media server for the front room and have been working on the motor today. First off, why is the motor body and arm well sealed cast aluminium yet the bracket that holds the motor to the main mast is some crappy painted steel affair. Fortunately the elevation and latitude markings are stamped into it because the paint flaked off taking quite a bit of rust with it so that'll have to be hammerited tomorrow. Being so close to the sea the motor has taken a bit of a pounding from the salt air and didn't work initially, after stripping it down I found the motor itself had siezed so had to force it round, once free it has continued to run fine.

So, onto the problem, not a major one but more of a bug than anything else. I'm using a Skystar2 with DiSEqC 1.10 from Mibi like before, I've set the limits and it's quite happy driving between positions and will drive the number of steps I ask it too. The problem is when I tell it to drive for nn seconds, whatever I choose (be it 1 or 50) it drives the motor for 15 seconds. Anyone else have a similar setup and can test to see if theirs behaves similarly please, it's not a show stopper but I'm curious to know if it's something I've done or not done that might be effecting it.

While googling this I came across this PDF, I'd wondered what was under the do not remove tab on the casing, seems it's not so much an issue for this distributor.
