Smile Eurovox Help please New

Hi Guys
I woundered if someone could help please:
I am going to buy a Eurovox, however I only have Cable broadband installed(telewest) I am thinking that I can connect the box via a 2 way splitter i.e coax out of the cable modem into splitter and 1 short coax back to modedm and a longer coax from spliter downstirs to box.
However when i read about removing the splitter to do power scan ect and connecting to a pc and scart to tv to update channels this sound like it rules my theory out, what can I do, please help.

J

Use high quality satellite cable and make sure the connections are well made. You only need to remove the splitter to scan if you have a weak signal and don't get all the channels when scanning.

Do you have to have a TV subscription to use the Eurovox, or will a Broadband only connection suffice? (ie. I've only got NTL BB without TV)?
