Hi All,
I have been asked to sort a 500c, usually I can do this but im having a strange problem.....

On start up first screen says " PLi Jade Think Green, Thank you for choosing PLi..... then screen goes blank nad same screen flashes up again.
Cant get ito menu etc to obtain IP address to load new image....
Any help much appreciated
Also the remote is long black, never seen one like this, usually small grey remotes

you need to flash it with dreamup

any backed up image you have will do as nothing has changed this year.

Thanks mate,
Stupidly I did not lift a back up image from the last box I did.
Is there an easy guide to do this as this seems to be the answer to my problem

Easiest way is to use telnet mate

To telnet, click START > RUN and type Telnet ip.address.of.dreambox
A command window will appear, enter username root and password dreambox.

To backup an image using Telnet

Telnet to the box and paste the following command:

cat /dev/mtd/3 > /tmp/backup.img

FTP to the box and navigate to the /tmp
Here you will find the backup.img file.

Hi All,
I downloaded a few images for dream box.
Using dream up I flashed what I thought was the latest DW image.
All seemed to go fine, flashed box, flash succesful etec etc.
Pluged box into tv and connected up.
Initial set up seemed strange straight away.....
When trying to scan for channels ( Dream, Services etc ) it did not give me cable options..... instead it gave me satelite info...
Have I stupidly loaded a Satelite image on a cable box.
I have now connected the box to pc and trying to flasg DW2.1...
all seems ok for about 10 seconds then I get message " Aborted By User - Exiting " ( Always 11min 38sec into flash )
Have i Knackered box or is there a way to recover.

Hi All,
Think I may have it sorted...

Tried older version of Dream Up 1.3.2.1 and pc running xp
All seemed to go ok
I will connect to TV later and report back

Ok,
Connected to tv etc, scanned and found most channels.
Problem now even FTA channels Saying Service Uknown.
I have not FTPd keys etc but i should still get fta channels...
Is this correct

Image used DW2.1 ( Shows DW2.0 On Start Up Screen )
