Default Help with installing Eurobird9e

Hi guys

I need help with installing Eurobird 9e. I have already got dish pointing to 13e and I bought a 4degree monoblock, I tried the monoblock bothways (left & right) as I did not know which way I need to point the lnb to get 9e. Which is the exact angle to point to?

I do not have tech tools to find out the angle to find out the angle for 9e. But 12e is working perfectly. I tried to change the dish position slightly, but any changes in dish would result in loss of channels on 13e.

Can anyone please help me with the installation? Which way should I fix the 4 degre monoblock? If I am facing the dish, would 9e be left side to the 13e or on the right? Do I need to change the dish position at all? If yes then how much and which way?

Thanks

Facing the dish 9e should be to the right and a little lower. Have you setup the DisEQc switching on the reciever, and is the reciever looking at an active transponder ?

Hi Rick

Thanks for your reply.

I tried both ways, left and right with the monoblock. The one thing I did not try was tilting the dish lower, I have tilted it upwards and it didn't work.

I have DM500 with pli jade image, I have LNB switch which I am using. LNB 1 for Sky and LNB 2 for Hotbird and now if 9e works then for both. In the satellite setting I have selected LNB1 for Sky and 2 for hotbird.

I will try to tilt the dish downwards and update you.

Thanks

Forgot to mention. I did scan for the transponders and it scans all the transponders but it says scanned 0 services, I think that means it could not pick up any channels.

You shouldn't have adjusted the dish at all. You should have just plonked the monoblock on there in the position described by Rick, and it would have worked, once you had sorted out the diseqc1.2 settings. It's either hotbird on 1 and 9e on 2, or vice versa, you can't go far wrong. Assuming of course that the dish is approx 80cm, if not, then you could have problems.

Also make sure you have valid tps listed, check lyngsat.

CHanged the monoblock position for 9e from left to right, tilted the monoblock a bit downwards. Still no luck, the signal strength is 60% but it can't find services. On the otherhand Hotbird works perfect.

Error I get is all known transponders have been tried, but no lock was possible. Verify antenna/cable setup or try another satellite/network.

Are you looking at an active transponder while you adjust the monoblock ? Have you setup your DisEQc settings as described by robbo ?

Stop messing with the dish, Tune it for hotbird and leave it alone!.

Select a valid tp from 9e, the one that b4u movies is on for example, check the quality on that.

9e lnb very slightly higher than 13e, but only a bit.

What is the dish size?

Hi Robbo

I have checked the transponders and they all seem to be right. Transponders scan was successful, except that the services are not downloaded.

At the moment the diseq config on my dm500 is 4 satellites via diseq opt a/b. On DiseqC AA is configured to Eurobird 1, 2 Diseqc AB to Hotbird, 3 - DiseqC BA to eurobird 9a. Are these settings right? I am using a LNB switch with 4 ports. LNB1 for Sky and LNB 2 for Hotbird.

THe dish that I have is a Cyfra+ dish, it's bigger than normal sky dish.

Any suggestions?

Hi Robbo

I have selected for a manual transponder scan and scanned 11996 with the info, the result says scanned 1 transponder with 0 services.

I have manually entered the b4u pids and details in my dm500 and the signal strength is SNR is 51%, AGC is 80% and BER is 0%. I guess SNR is signal, don't know about remaining two.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.
