6500 classic contacts problem

i have a nokia 6500 classic with a weird problem
i have searched it online but cant find an answer
well basically, i was transferring the contacts from my phone to my sim and they have dissapeared?
when i go to memory status they are all there but i cant see any of them in the contact list.
when i try to move the contacts to the sim card only 9 move and i cant see them if i click use phone and sim, they only appear if i use read from sim only
