Yeah, just remember to turn it off again though, or searching the internet could get pretty boring

Yes, we've got Netnanny as well - my eldest tried Moshi Monsters for a while as well, just watch your subscription.

If you're going to use internet filtering software for kids, though, try and pay for it though - on the one hand, the only reason that software is available if because someone invested money in building a software product you need to protect your kids.

Secondly, if you download warez, there's a serious chance you are going to put far worse on your PC than your kids ever would - and potentially expose them to that as well.

Yesterday i noticed she had gone onto a site called mushimonsters.com , my wife had signed her up to make a monster and within minutes she received a friend request from someone in the US , upon looking around myself i could see what "other children " had written including personal information without even being a friend of theirs.

My question is : Is there any software i could use to block chat or even content / sites i deem to be inappropriate ??

Sorry if it sounds like i am a paranoid father , just would like to offer my children some degree of protection when i'm not around , you hear too much bad stuff going on.

Any advice would be appreciated

Thanks in advance

What organisations tend to use is "Trend Micro Security" where that blocks sites for you, but I suppose a lot of them have servers.

Maybe even if you had a server(or a PC made in to a server), you could probably block sites yourself
