Hi Guys,
Having read this forum religiously for 3 days, I thought I'd post and ask for help. I have an Ambit 255 with haxorware 3.9 off ebay. Having originally left the settings, I tried to simply add a mac and set the frequency. Every valid mac or mac that got the 'operational status' went to the activation page and every invalid mac, got stuck somewhere or the modem would constantly reboot. What is up with this VM activation page? What does 'gardened' mean? I've read that I get the VM activation page because the macs are bad but I'm not totally convinced. I'm an Apple Mac User so I've resorted to different methods of getting macs. I can't use DHCP sniffer or other windows based program. I've recently moved and I can't do the 'mate house thing'. The program I'm using (KisMac) searches for nearby wifi connections in real-time and displays the mac address of that connection even if it is password protected, so I know these macs are 100% active. I try at different times of the day, but I still get the activation page. I suppose I could try areas a little more far out but I'm not feeling too optimistic. Before I found this software I would stroll nearby areas with my iphone trying to get open connections. I would then access the mac address through 192.168.100.1 in Safari (Pretty sad, but this has worked for me in the past). I never got the VM activation pages when I lived in Birmingham, only reboots for the bad macs. Can anyone please clarify what problems I might have? The error I get constantly is 'improper configuration file CVC format'. Have I got bad settings in Haxorware for this error? I believe I have changed my nic mac from tutorials I found but I'm not sure if this is my problem or not. Please help if you can, I would really appreciate it. ![]() Harrow area of London in ex c&w. |

APPLE MAC USER
Hmm... Still having problems with this. I changed to 1.1 as cable man suggested but I'm still getting VM activation. What I have noticed is that when I get 'operational status' my IP address is 198.168.100.11 and router is 255.255.255.0. There are no DNS servers. These are the setting on my mac network page not haxorware configuration page. (I'm confusing myself) Whilst I have these setting, I get errors on browsers and cannot connect to the internet. After 2 or 3 minutes the IP changes to 80.4.215.75 and the router changes to 80.4.215.1. I then get 2 DNS servers (always the same). As soon as the settings change, buff, VM activation page. Is there something I am doing wrong or could this defo be just bad macs?? After the settings change, I always get given the same IP address for every mac I try, is this right? Are VM onto me? This is driving me nuts, I already pay for services. I just want a lil' extra Advice appreciated on this IP issue. |

![]() Just tried my 79th mac in the space of 4 days and still getting activation page on every single one. None are getting stuck, just straight to VM. I must be doing something wrong. My Ip address is: 192.168.100.11 Should it be 192.168.100.10? Will this make a difference? Can anyone tell me if particular macs are more likely to work i.e macs that start 00:1F or 00:02. I have hundreds of mac to try but if I knew which ones to try first maybe I wouldn't need to go through them all. ![]() ![]() Do the details on the stealth page matter? I am using ambit 255 but the model etc are a mix of ambit 255 and Sb501e. Would this cause me problems? I've disabled the firmware upgrades. One more questions... When I try a new mac should I be disconnecting the cable feed then save and reboot? I've been disabling/enabling my network card for each new mac but I always leave the cable feed in. Is this bad? The bloody thing hurts my finger to keep screwing it. Thanks Guys! If there were no forums to talk about this, I would have thrown it out the window by now.

Another thing...
![]() Because I've tried so many macs and always get the activation page, I have clicked on the link numerous times. I read on WM forum that we should not click the link. Most times the page says to call VM to register modem but at other times the page reads that it has already been activated. There is a link to click that is suppose to get you online but it just loads continuously. |
