hi all,
i brought a sky hd box of ebay which at present seems fraulty. The remote for it was a sky plus one and select and up dont work. Any way i updated the box as per post here and now on the new hd menus.

now my fraults:

im testing with one feed of my dish and if i put it on lnb 1 at back of box i get no channels at all yet a signal listed in settings. if i move the feed to lnb 2, i get channels. so is lnb 1 at frault?

next

as no card, i guess i only would get bbc hd for free? if i go to any hd channel i can watch them? thats not right via a scart right?????
then i removed scart had my hdmi in and still no bbc 1 hd? or is it still need the box actived to hd?

any ideas?

one tuner is for record, one is for viewing

yep, i guessed that but u would think 1 is main, 2 for record?

what about the hd? or is it as i said, not actived?

i remember that mine is ass upward. you've got a oct lnb so you shouldnt be struggling for feeds.... plus you used to work for vm so you shouldnt be struggling for coax either! lol

no 1
there are 3 sky remotes
standrd
sky plus
sky plus hd
they are not interchangable

no 2
go in to the menus and make sure that no 1 is switched on as they can be switched to single in put receivers

no 3
as to watching any hd channels on a sky box you needs card and activated to watch and record channels

i had to go out to one the other day they had all the channels and the hd channels
they could records all the channels except itv phoned sky and they updated card over the air can records all channels now

where do i set just 1 lnb then?

Do these boxes not work as fta without a card. If so then Luxe TV HD, Channel 4 HD, BBC HD and ITV1 HD are available without subscription. Channel 4 HD requires a viewing card. Plus, you will need an hdmi cable to view hd.

did u not read mate, i have my hdmi lead in it as well as a scart

im with you must be some free HD channels i can watch without a card.

when i turn to any HD channel, its on the tv and when i remove the scart, the picture goes. you cant tell me you can watch a hd channel via scart lol

so im un sure if the box is fraulty

Sorry, I didn't read that bit properly. You can watch hd channels with a scart but picture will sd. Maybe you're hdmi cable is dodgy.
