Phone line query

Hi guys!!

Just a quick question,

I'm trying to get sky multiroom in my parents house but the bt line is disconnected as mum disputing the bill (dreary cow! Lol)

so was wondering what I can do as sky won't install it without a working incoming an outgoing calls?

Can I go with another provider? Or do I HAVE to pay off the bill first??

well i had sky put in and my line was disconnected and all they done was came and put the box and sky dish in the 2 or 3 days l8er a BT engineer came and done the line... But i had a hard job as they told me i would have 2 pay something like £129.00 for but i told them 2 stick it, then he told me they would do it 4 nowt so i got it in and all is ok, so just fight with them 2 get it. dont phone them go 2 the sky website and text chat 2 one of the customer service.

Hmmm well the chance of her paying the bill is minimal so I need an alternate as sky multiroom NEEDs a phone line with incoming an outgoing, can I take it out with another company like virgin or is it barred completely until it's paid?

you can just pay sky £25.00 and they install it......just when you first sign up......put a blag number in .....then when engineer visits hel call sky explain then they explain to you they will be a flat rate 25.00 charge.

Dosen't work for multiroom. Both boxes have to be connected to the same phone line as they dial home periodically.

You'll have to settle with BT somehow (either pay or go through some form of dispute resolution process) as they wont release the line to an alternative provider until you've cleared any debts. Sky wont fit multiroom without the fixed telephone line !
