Default Going Legit?

Ok folks, decided to bite the bullit and go legit. Now I still have my original subbed modem (a moto sb5101)

Other half just called them to arrange bb to be added to our package. VM wanting to charge us £35 for an install.
She's relatively clued up and said we would install it ourselves and that we had a modem, could we not just give them the serial number?

VM apparantly adamant an engineer has to come out to "check the line"???

Going to set up the non-modded modem tonight and give them a call myself, surely we dont need a £35 engineer visit?

ask them to post the stuff out to you and u dont want to pay extra for sum1 one to come out to you

virgin are having an issue with their IT at the moment which isnt allowing the sales team to select 'quick start'

i've got an eng coming tomorrow as i couldnt get 'quick start'

i've told them i'm only paying the £15 for the original quick start fee, not the £35 for an eng visit and they were ok with this

well im going to have it all ready for him tomorrow, from the feed to the isolator, everything.

if he asks who's done it im simply going to say nobody works on communications equipment in my house other than me.

i realy doubt they give a dam whats goin on with your setup and wiring they dont care there job is to come setup your modem switch some cables and splitters around if nesessary i doubt any of the engineers remember or care what the setup looked like last time anyone could of changed anythin around.

when i moved in my house i had a cable port upstairs but the downstairs one wouldnt work(i wanted it for my dreambox).. after checking the box outside i noticed the downstairs one had been cut off and routed upstairs...

so i just called them up said my modem wouldnt sync sent an engineer for free who fixed up all my connections and didnt ask any questions about why i had numerous isolators around the house!
