you need to buy a MALE TO MALE vga cable from your local computer shop

cant u use a 3.5 to 3.5 headphone cable ingto your tv/surround sound?

You will have to use the headphone socket on the laptop, and with the appropriate adapter lead, connect into the red and white phono inputs on the tv.

Yes, assuming that your TV does have a VGA input, and the phono audio inputs of course.

The best way I have found to do it, is to use HDMI, as the picture is better and there is sound too. But needs a TV and a PC both with HDMI.

Pointless exercise, even if there was an adapter ( I don't know if there is or not). Just saying, that using hdmi to hdmi works best, so when you get around to bying a new lappy, consider it.
