Default Thinking of a tm600

Hi folks,
I have a tm5400 with a 1m motorised dish, but I am looking for a new box for another room and thinking of trying a linux box such as a tm600. Something to play with more than anything else! Can anyone tell me if they can get the pvr side to function well with an internal hard disk as this will be important to me. What other boxes do you think i should i look at?
many thanks
andy

The TM600 has USB connectors for all HDD including the internal one, so you would need a USB to IDE (or SATA) adapter. It does have a cradle and a 4 pin power connecter for a 3.5" HDD. The DM600S has an internal IDE connector but only space for a 2.5" HDD. The Spiderbox HD9000 is not a Linux box, it is HD with 2 external USB ports for external HDD, it does also have the "Gift" which is access to a CS server for non-Sky channels.

I have the PVR working on all 3, obviously the usual limitations with them being single tuner

Many thanks for your response Lincsat, those are the three boxes i am looking at. Not too fussed on the spiderbox at the moment as i want to learn the linux side of it rather than watch tv! The way i see it is the tm600 has better hardware but less support than the dm/dm clone. I still feel a little miffed with my technomate 5400 (non super) not being able to record scrambled channels but other than that it's been a great box, but a linux box will be totally different. Still we all have to start somewhere. Think i'll have to flip a coin, heads or tails?
Thanks, Andy

The TM600 does have a UHF modulator if that's important to you. I did get some USB to IDE adapters in to sell with them that seem to work OK - but as you say, less images available for the TM Linux boxes.
