hi all, I just came across this site tonight as my eurovox has given up!
I have a Eurovox max3 and use NTL in the Glasgow area I followed the instructions for a power scan with a different symbol rate and it brought them all back with a few more I had not seen. I did notice that the adult channels, well some of them require a pin to work and I wonder if NTL have maybe upgraded things at there end. I was thinking of replaceing the eurovox with a d-box2 anyone have an opinion on this and a feature set I cant seem to find many reviews of them thanks brian |

got this from a mate
Inside info on ntl update -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Howdy, My mate at ntl call center called me to let me know they were about to send out a signal to all of uk. Then they did. The update is part of the Virgin update, but is not the update itself. When it was sent out, even the call centre crashed (not from call volume- it just crashed). It WASNT expected to have this effect. He was finishing his shift but will find out everything tomorrow morning. The description he was given was it was to "clear the ntl logos" before the new black menus were rolled out. Could mean anything. -Dalmation. |

There has been some channel changes and NTL are adding some +1 channels, the d-box has a background scan feature and should find the new channels automatically.
Most of the adult channels have 2 or 3 entries on the EPG and like Sky Movies 9 have a PIN screen as well as the full programming. |

Hi lincsat, sky movies 9 previously worked if I left it on the channel for a time the pin screen would go away. Do you know if this is still the case and does it work for the other pin protected services?
I am not near my home just now so cant test. Thanks brian |

I don't have a Eurovox. On a d-box, Sky Movies 9 has the EPG Data and the PIN screen, whilst "SM9_ETV" carries the programming.
With the smut channels, using the Adult Channel as an example, we have "Adult_PIN", "Adult Channel", "Adult Channel PPV" and "Adult Channel Nightly", with one carrying the PIN screen, 2 carrying programming and the other blank. |

im with telewest (i think - i got the following net id:Edinburgh / Lothian TW, 40981 619000 6952 ... im in edinburgh, so does this mean im in a telewest area?)
Anyway, if i hook up a eurovox max - could telewest (or virgin now) send out a signal and realise that im getting free tv? if so, is there anyway around this? |
