Can new posters at least say hello in newbies section instead of coming on here and expecting everything from off.
I don't mind helping anyone not when they come on a forum for one thign and don't see them for months years etc.
Your problem i believe is your using an sdhc card not sd card, you need to put new bootloader on the sd card ane then you may continue to use an higher capacity card, this is why your getting NO MAPS

Hello all Im affraid Im having the same problem as winactive I thought Id back up my sd card from the tomtom to my desktop as a precaution in case it didn't work, so first of all I downloaded new maps and navcore and followed the tut to the letter (I think) but it didn't work so I thought oh well at least I have the backup, so I coppied the backup back to my sd card and inserted it into my tomtom one v4 and now Im getting no maps and if I use the tomtom home it says that I need to activate the maps but if I try that I get and xml error so Im stumped!
Hope some one can help

apologises if this sounds daft, but a few questions folks

the first obvious question what is a Navcore

I've got a Navigo sat nav, fortunately a mate installed the first Navcore, since then I've regularly updated my TTmaps
currently running

V7.910 (9185)

with maps UK & Irl V860.3126

my query/question is can I update the Navcore (do I need to) if so what's the best one to go for

thanks in advance

Hi FoxLady, thanks for your tutorial

I applied it to my (old and obsoleted by Tomtom) GO510 to install Europe-181 on a new SD 2GB card. In fact, it is Europe 855_2885 from which I discarded non Frecnh languages to decrease the size under 2GB.
I copied in the "navcore_7.903.9183.go510-go710" (ultimate version for my GPS). BTW, it becomes a "710" ?!?

All goes perfectly except that I got, in French, "Carte introuvable" (i.e. : can't find the map) when I switch the GO510 on, at the first and the final steps of your tuto.

What did I miss ?

Can you help ?

Thanks beforehand

I download maps onto SD card for my TomTom 710, just use the Auto-patcher to patch the maps before putting them in the device itself.

A tip I've picked up - when updating Maps, just overwrite your old map, apply the patch (and remove the old patch files). Then using TTHome (not the device) Operate your go, open and then exit your favourites, then exit the app. Then when you use your device, it's saved all your old settings and favourites - you don't have to start again
