Hi Mate,
we are having problems with the eurovox at the minute, but its with the provider in ayrshire nothing to do with the actual box, the eurovox is very simple and easy to use and we had no problems with it for months untill now, so don't let this put you off buying one, its just our area thats the problem. Can't help you with the starview though sorry, and don't know anyone who has one either. Jackdog |

good afternoon.
we are experimenting with 3 boxes for cable tv. starview, eurovoxmax and dreambox. the dreambox gives the best picture but it's abit ott for cable. we're now using it for sattelite reception. the starview is probably the best of the two, as it has faster channel changes, better epg, no picture freezing on any channel, svhs out, s/pdif out blah blah blah, but it has a problem with the aspect ratios. you either get black bars down the sides or black bars top and bottom. they are saying this on other cable forums. one way around this is to use the zoom function on your widescreen tv, but it's hardly ideal. the eurovoxmax dosen't have this problem but the picture was breaking up on some channels.(bravo/livingtv, manchester area). we then compared the database of both receivers and found the frequencies didn't match.this is what is causing the picture to freeze on the eurovoxmax. so we then added 0.5 mhz to the frequency of bravo.(522000 mhz became 522.500mhz manchester area),and then, hey presto, perfect picture. hope this is of some help. sossybaby. |

hello.
if you mean sky digital on satellite then with the dreambox you can providing you also have a dragon cam and legit viewing card. not with the other boxes as they don't have a common interface slot. regards sossybaby. |

hello.
i've played around with a d-box2 but only on satellite. only just started on cable boxes. ![]() i believe they use the same tuxbox code as the dreambox, so they should be well supported. to avoid any confusion from my last post. the dreambox 7000s, 7020s, 500s etc are all satellite receivers. the dreambox 500c is a cable receiver. @ notebook. type sky on dreambox in a search engine and you'll get plenty of replies. regards sossybaby. |

Hi, I have a query regarding the Starview box.
I want to use this device in Ireland with a service provider called Magnet Entertainment..(fibre optic broadband/tv/phone) However there is no option in the set up mode for Magnet?? NTL etc are there. Is the STARVIEW box selective as to which Service provider it needs or should all service providers work with this device...???????? Unfortunately I have not been able to test the device in my new place yet using MAGNET, but did get it working using NTL in my folks house. Any help advice would be greatly appreciated! Regards, J |
