Anyone know on what basis CPCs are allocated?
e.g. if I'm on my subbed through router I get allocated CPC2 if I'm on my subbed but not through router I get allocated CPC1 |

Isn`t it decided by other subscriptions in the area? For example, Around my area, every Docsis 1.0 mac (we have hardly any of these left on my UBR) I have tested has kept me on CPC1. However, with a Docsis 1.1 modem (99% of all subs round here!), I can have either CPC1 or CPC2. I think it goes on how many subs are connecting on a certain Docsis version

Its partly down to the physical UBR line your connected to, partly down to the IP address you are allocated and partly down a simplistic load balancing system (which seems to be more orientated to IP than actual real load).
If you set your router MAC address to be the same as your PC MAC address then you'll probably end up with the same IP and thus the same routing. |
