New box New problem

I got a new box this morning for a friend and am trying to install it for him, I get all the channels when doing a scan but none are viewable does anyone know why, also the channels that have come down are not in the normal format ie UK Gold they are listed like 04a etc
Please help have been at it for hours now, there probaly is a quick answer but have read most of the board and am going boggled eyed now

The channels are encrypted, you need an auto update (AU) file for the channels to clear, as for the channel names i think that it is down to the image that you are using ?

hi,

which box are u using? in any case, i agree as well, that u might need to flash with a later firmware or try a factory reset, follow instructions u were given and rescan.

if ur looking for further instructions as u probably know there is plenty of FAQ available on here if u look around.

I live in the merseyside area, what is the best image to go with as their are so many or is it just what you find that works?

Hi Sporster is one of the favorites or commando is very popular and come in 1 x or 2 x and as long as you get from a uk forum they should AU not problem just give ten mins to update codes once you have scanned

i have the same problem with my eurovox max ,scans and finds all the channels twice but doesnt display them im in the ayrshire area in scotland does anyone have auto update keys that would make it work

Hi mate
there is a problem in your area just now ,not sure which codes they are running on tw etc have all been tried but don't work ,all I can tell you is there are guys working on the problem , would be interested to know if anyone with a dbox or starview box in your area is still working or not

friend has a starview his went down same time as mine , but he went into his menu and think he said he either enabled or disabled the emu whatever that is and his channels all came back ,so it is just a eurovox max problem i think
