Default V+ Box FTA, help please when N3 hits

Hi,

Being a bit of a dummy !! I need a little help and advice on something please.

I have an "un-modded" V+ box with a paired card at the mo, when N3 hits and assuming I get my hands on a new N3 card, will I be able to use the box as a FTA unit including FTA HD channels like BBC HD and ITV HD with recording facilities? or will box be completely useless?

Any plain and simply advice welcome please.

thanks

Red

It won't be completely useless, you will get basic FTA without the card but I don't think you can get PVR functions without a paired card.

Thanks Blakey,

So whats the chances I wonder of getting a new card from Virgin and being able to pair the box to the new card..legitimately, to make use of the box as a Freeview unit with recording facilities?

NIL - Dont even try it !

As far as VM are concerned, unless the box was issued to you as your subbed box then its stolen property. You cannot legitimately own VM equipment - its only ever rented to a customer.
